We had Estrella, but it just recently got switched to Xhail (she is on vaca until oct 10th though) We are at step 3 too! lol We hired Ivan Luckie as our photographer, the best moments for hair and makeup, and we are working on booking a dj now. What time is your ceremony? (ours is at 6PM). I think we are going to extend our reception for an hour as well. Where are you flying from? (St. Louis, MO here)

We hired Octavio Montes for our photography. Are you paying the outside vendor fee or having them stay as a guest at the hotel for 2 nights?  We are very fortunate as we are friends with 2 hairdressers and a make up artist and they are coming to the wedding and as a gift to us will do the hair and make up!

Our ceremony is at 4:30pm with our reception starting at 7 (for 3 hours).  We aren't going to add any time or hire a DJ as we are just going to use an i-pod with our own playlists (we have a DJ friend that can drum up something for us ahead of time and we will just move a table out of the way) and then head to Jaguars after.

Are you doing centrepieces or welcome bags at all? I know we will do welcome bags, but I haven't decided if I will do centrepieces.

We are coming from Vancouver, BC

We are probably going to do our own centerpieces. (I have heard the resorts are kind of pricey) We have found lots of options on Etsy, and right now are leaning towards this one:

We are definitely doing wedding bags! We are most likely going to buy tote bags in bulk online somewhere. The mother-in-law is super crafty so she can put just about anything on them that we want. We will for sure have some kind of hangover kit in there, not sure what else exactly yet. I would like some custom koozies. We will be putting an itinerary in there, as well as room info for every guest. I've read on here to have a list with every guests room numbers and phone ext. numbers so that guests can get in touch with other guests. Which hotel are you staying at? The Palace? We are staying at the colonial/tropical due to the price difference. Are you planning on going on any of the excursions?

Also I forgot to answer a question of yours…we are just paying the outside vendor fee for the photographer.

We are staying at the newly renovated Beach hotel. We are already up to 50 guests with quite a few more to book. I think the only excursion we have talked about is doing Coco Bongo on Tuesday, May 19 (2 days before the wedding). This way it is kind of a stag/stagette night for those that couldn't make the ones back home.  We thought about doing another excursion, but we didn't want our guests to feel obligated to go spend more money. I figure if they want to go do their own they will.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
