Costa Rica Wedding Location

Hello ladies.. I have a bit of a dilemma.. We are supposed to be heading to the Dreams Las Mareas on April 20th-27th, 2015. However we were just informed that the date we had chosen had been double booked and is unavailable. The only dates they have are the the day we arrive (the 20th), the next day (21st) and the day we leave (27th). Does anyone know of any offsite locations around that area that we may be able to host our wedding?

How confident are you in the staff to pull it together if you chose the 21st date?

Obviously, the other ones are out.

Are you having a legal or symbolic ceremony?

Who is performing it?

Are you in contract with the property?

Have you made contact with their Wedding Coordinator? Are they just dumping the problem in your lap?

Do you have a travel agent?

This is really unacceptable and should be able to be resolved with the property accommodating to assist you since it apparently their error.

 

What assistance have you received thus far?

@@jengak5 Congrats. I'm sorry to hear that your date isn't available. My wedding is on 4/17 at Las Mareas. There aren't many other options in that area. It's pretty secluded. Recreo is the only other resort close to the property. I think they have weddings on the beach in El Jobo or Rajada. If you want something inside, I don't think there is anything else close.

I agree with TA Kathy, especially since she's a master at this travel stuff. Has the resort just dumped this on you? When did you actually book and deposit your date? If you have rooms booked and guests, etc along with all of your reception details, I would be screaming blue murder at the resort and demanding that they fix it. And if you have a signed contract, that's definitely something for you to fall back on. They can't just arbitrarily renege on that deal. That's why a contract is signed in the first place!

Hi Ladies! thank you for the feedback. Since there was such poor communication going on with the resort and everything and it was such a flip flop back inforth... We ended up just switching resorts... I believe everything happens for a reason and now we are staying at the Westin and having our wedding at the Langosta Beach Club!
