Struggling With Picking A Dress. Moon Palace

Recommended Posts

Hi I just found this site and have been reading forums now for over 2 hours. I am getting married in Cancun at the Moon Palace Resort 3/28/15. I have yet to purchase my dress. I honestly am so stressed about it. I want a dress that will travel well and isn't over priced. My budget is about $1,000total including alterations. Any suggestions on designers. I have looked at Alfred Angelo and tried designers such as Maggie Sottero. HELP I am really running out of time.

@@robertandreneesayido I waited for awhile before I even looked for a dress. I got engaged about 5 months ago and just ordered my dress last week for my April wedding.

Have you tried looking into sample sales or a bridal outlet that would allow you to purchase basically off the rack with minor alterations? There are also several online sites where brides sell their dress at discounted prices. Or are you specifically looking for new? Perhaps Allure, Sophia Tolli, Mikaella, Essence of Australia. Good luck

you've gotten great suggestions for budget-friendly dresses!

I'd also suggest not stressing terribly over whether or not it will travel well. The biggest consideration is whether you are willing to carry it with you through the airports and on a plane. If a ball gown with a super full skirt is more than you want to manage, consider a different silhouette. Destination brides have worn all silhouettes and it's all perfectly appropriate - I've seen huge ball gowns, a-lines, mermaid/trumpet style, and what most people think of as a destination wedding dress (slim column, chiffon or flowy material). Find a dress that you love, and go from there.

Most of the resorts are used to steaming wedding gowns, so even if it arrives with a few wrinkles it will be ok.

Also try Mori Lee as well.

Btw I went over budget 1500$ before alterations but it is THE one. Thank you all for your help!!'

Lol - the rule here is that you have to post pics so everyone can see!! (hint hint) I love the Mori Lee designs. They're just gorgeous! So far my favourites are David Tutera's designs for Mon Cheri. But a decision will be tough.....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
