Seeing Your H2B Before The Ceremony Starts?

Recommended Posts

My fiancee and I would like to see each other before the ceremony starts. We think it would be nice to share that moment privately and to have it captured on film.

Has anyone else thought about doing this?

We are definitely doing this - in fact, we are going to walk down the aisle together :) I definitely want that private, quiet moment together before the ceremony, and I also want to get some of our pictures out of the way so we don't miss our entire cocktail hour.

But we are also very non-traditional and we've been together forever so that is just what feels right for us! (I ADORE my dad, but I just struggle with the idea of being "given away.")

I think it's such a special private moment that I don't really want to share it with everyone.

And I like the thought of being able to be at the cocktail party for a bit!

I don't think I will mention to anyone that we are seeing each other before....don't want to have to entertain all sorts of questions and commentary on it...which everyone seems to think they are entitled too!!

We aren't doing it, but I am not sure why!

We talked about it and decided that we would like to leave it until I walk in with my dad.

We are also non-traditional and this is just what we decided.

There are a lot of women on here doing a 'first look'. Totally just preference.

A part of me kind of wishes we were doing it, because when he tears up or anyone else for that matter, so will I... I just hope I can control it!!!!

We're doing it. Our ceremony is just before sunset, which leaves us very little time for pics before it gets too dark. We figured sharing a "special moment" before the ceremony was better than rushing around stressed out afterwards!

If our photographer will let us do some photos before we are going to.  I want to enjoy the cocktail hour with everyone!  Our ceremony is at 3, so I'm not sure when the best time to do photos will be.

My pictures would be AWFUL!!!!! LOL I'll have to talk to him and see what he thinks. We're not really into tradition so I'm hoping he'll be okay with it. And yes, it'll be great to spend cocktail hour with the guests. Usually that part is completely missed.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
