Wedding Processional - What's Your Order?

What order are you using for your processional? I have 1 more groomsman than bridesmaid, so I don't really want them to walk down arm and arm. Is your groom seating the moms? Are his parents escorting him down? And how many songs?

I've been wondering about this myself. I have a male MOH and a best woman, so I'm not entirely sure how that will work. And my parents are divorced and my mother is remarried, so I imagine she'd get escorted down the aisle by her husband and my dad would just... sit? And where does the groom's mother fit in? She's big on tradition and a very emotional person, so I'm sure she'd like to be involved, even if we just send his parents down the aisle before the bridal party... so many decisions!

I also have no idea.

 

In my mind I had saw this - guests show up first, then groom and his men. They 'hang out' with everyone until we arrive and then usher everyone to their seats.  Groom will stand at the 'alter' by himself.  The ring bearer/flower girl will come down the isle (unless they go just before the bride??), then the groomsmen will escort the BM's down the isle, then me and my dad!

 

Honestly, I never thought about fiance escorting his mom!

I guess I should ask him/here what they think, but in all our discussions on this it hasn't come up!

 

I think you can do whatever you want - depending if you are traditional or not.

Yes. In all the weddings I have been to the flower girl and ring bearer always go before.. depends on the wedding I guess.

 

Funny story about that actually... we didn't have really any kids coming at first, but we wanted to include a few people. SO we totally asked our 18 year old nephew and our 30 year old friend to be the ring bearer & flower girl LOL. I can't wait to see peoples reactions. It's going to be funny.

I am actually really excited about this for my daughter... and love the petals on the isle!

My son is also the ring bearer. I wasn't sure if they were supposed to stand with the bridal party or sit down.  I can just see them fidgeting, picking their nose (ok not really), and getting restless so we chose to have them sit down when they get to the front.
