My New Motivator: Fitbit

Recommended Posts

My mom just bought us both a fitbit flex today to push us these last 51 days before the wedding. I am so excited to have this extra motivation, as I really need it to reach my goals. Do any of you use fitbit and have tips for me?

What are your motivators?

I don't, sorry!

But I use My Fitness Pal to track my calories and  A LOT of people use them.
I got a Nike fuelband for Christmas and never wear it (don't tell fiance).

Right now my motivators are that wedding dress!!!  It fits, but I want a little wiggle room with the Mexican swelling I am sure to get.

Otherwise for me, it's knowing where I have been (story in another weight loss thread) and knowing I don't ever want to go back to that weight.  So I push on!

LOVE MY FITBIT! Put in goals....feels so good to gave it buzz when hitting daily goal and it's still the afternoon! Also add friends so you can challenge yourself against them. I will get up and take quick five minute walk at work if I see myself behind someone!

I use fitbit and my fitness pal. Work is doing a 90 day fitness challenge right now with fitbit and it's amazing how motivating it is to crush your coworkers lol. I set my goal to 15k per day, because I have a desk job. My dress fits well and is corset, but I want to lose arm inches! Ideally 20lbs (well 30 ideally) but I'm pretty muscled so it's more how I feel.

I have a fitbit one. I use it and myfitnesspal and I love that it syncs. My motivator is our wedding and I have an image in my head of how I want to look so that's what motivates me! Also looking at the app a lot motivates me because when you hit your goal the numbers turn green and you get a little smiley face which is always a great feeling

I've been thinking about getting a Fit Bit or something similar - I wish someone would just give it to me as a gift so I don't have to spend the money! Haha. Hey - Christmas is coming up I guess! But my fiancé and I signed up for a 10k race at the end of October so that is my near term motivator. Exercising is less my problem than my diet is. I love food way too much, but the thought of being in a bathing suit for a week with cameras all around (and being the center of attention) is actually more motivating to me than fitting into a dress :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
