I'm in the process of searching for cups for my OOT bag, and I'm debating between tumblers vs. mugs.  Could any of you ladies shed some light on pros / cons or why you selected what you did?

I think I would prefer a tumbler with a straw, but I know most the guys will just drink beer.  I don't think they will want to drink beer out of a straw.

We got bubba kegs for all of our guests except for the kids, which we got tumblers for. They were more than reasonable when you order them online.

You could always get mugs for the guys and one's with straws for the women. If someone wants one that bad, they can switch. We did that with colors for our bubba's.

All in all depends on how many guests you have and how much you want to spend.

We have 45 people attending (which includes us).  I would rather do the same for everyone.  Whichever I go with, people can add a straw to a mug or take off the lid to the tumbler.  I just don't know which would be more useful!

personally, I like the tumblers better. Maybe because I have tons of mugs at home

I like mugs because they are easier to hold. I've taken both on all of our trips and with carrying everything, it's easier to hold a mug in my opinion. I may have a lot of them but I like the handle for a reason :) also I am able to clip on my room key holder onto the handle and what not. And hold it when I am sitting in the ocean drinking away. :)

Are you located in the states or Canada? How much are you looking to spend on a mug per person?

Edit: Just saw you are in Canada. I should read better!

that is true! I didn't think of how much more convenient the mugs would be. Such tough choices haha. Where did you get yours?

They definitely are. We travel quite a bit and have taken dollar store tumblers (which have broken for us BTW.. worth it to spend a little extra for yourself and get a better made one if you choose to go that route in my opinion) and tumblers we bought at Canadian tire. This last time we took bubba's and now I am wondering why I ever took anything else. Kept my margarita cold and the ice from melting for HOURS. And we went during high season (we don't usually) so it sure made a difference when there was a long line up at the beach bar.

We got ours from the official bubba site. It's an American site and they ship to Canada but the shipping to Canada is ridicously expensive, so we had it shipped to our PO box in the states and just picked them up. However - a lot of people on here wait till they go on sale at Canadian tire (I believe they get down to 5.95 or 6.95 down from 15.00) and buy. Only thing there is you can't be picky with colors, where as we were able to choose all the colors online (Pink, purple, orange, blue, red, green etc) for 5.95 a piece, plus since we ordered so many, we got a bulk discount :) Sure helped with the costs!

here is the website:

You can get straws for the bubba's BTW.

@@Mrsktobe I am in the States, so shipping wouldn't be a huge deal.

I love Bubba cups, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much (having to buy 45), in addition to everything else.  My fear with the Dollar Store tumblers is that you get what you pay for, so I don't want to get them down to Cancun and have them all cracked.

I'm so indecisive.

if it helps, we were humming and hawing and then decided to forgo getting favors for people and just putting that money into the mugs. The OOT bags are a really great idea but for a lot of guests, they bring a lot of the stuff already, so we just took more things out of our OOT bag put that budget into the mugs. So things like hangover remedy, Tylenol and such we took out but kept playing cards, Kleenex, bobby pins etc in.

I ended up ordering 46 mugs actualluy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
