What Are Some Good Venues Not Attached To A Resort/hotel?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

unfortunately I am not sure if the wedding at my current resort is going to work out. We still want to stay there, but the prices they are quoting are outrageous. What are some options in the PV area that aren't attached to a resort so we could travel there? my wedding is supposed to be in 6-7 months so i really need to start emailing asap if my current venue isn't cutting it!

What about las caletas for your wedding? You could stay at your resort but go here for ceremony/reception. It supposed to be gorgeous!!

Great idea Kim!

My friend married there last year and her pictures are fabulous!

She also had the sky lantern things (I think - she set something off in the air) and I know a lot of you ladies were looking to have those and couldn't!!

PS - read your other post.   So let me get this right - they are legally unable to set up your centerpieces so your friends have too, but they are charging $250 US for doing nothing? what? I don't fully understand that.  Sounds like a cash grab.

My cousin in law got married at Martoca Beach Gardens.. check them out, they were amazing for their wedding! I didn't go but my sister in law was their wedding photographer and said it was one of the best weddings she had been to. :)

thanks everyone!

@@calgarybride2015  that is exactly right! i understand that they want to make up lost revenue but that is nuts....it makes no sense. i am doing some serious reconsidering this week.

I would, how can you be charged for nothing?  My mind is blow right now.

Those fees are really what is going to hurt the DW business for resorts because more and more people are looking off resort. Las Caletas is beautiful, I have been in contact with James at Martoca and he seems really nice and able to work within whatever budget you have. He told me he could do a wedding for 50 for $10,000 - $50,000 just depending on the options! You could also look into restaurants that's what I am doing. We have chosen a restaurant in Bucerias that we love, it is within walking distance of where everyone is staying or a $4.00 cab ride!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
