I don't know where those specific pictures were taken, but as far as privacy goes, we are getting married at Playa Azul, and having our reception there. It is looked a little past Maya Beach, and from what I have read that is the most private spot you can get married. I have also read that Coral Beach is pretty private.

Question for anyone that has checked out the Barcelo in Riviera Maya website lately…I have been checking for two weeks and for some reason the trips and excursion page is in German! I have checked it on my phone, and on two different computers, and even though "english" is selected as the language on top, the trips and excursions page ONLY is in German. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just showing up on my internet connection?? Thanks!

Dear cfinkenbine,

I see that too. Its wierd because parts oft he page is in english but the information about each tour is in German.

If you have a wedding planner at the Barcelo they might be able to help you out.

Regards

Alexis

Having been to the Barcelo now, the beach that you can get the MOST privacy at is Playa Azul and it actually has the nicest beach and water (in my opinion). The beach in front of the Tropical and Palace has lots of rock etc, so if you like that then its good, but I like the look of all sand into teal blue water which is Playa Azul. It is slightly removed from the resort too so you dont have all the same passerby's like you would at the other locations. The only thing is there is not a lot of tree coverage, so it can get hot!

I am getting Married November 2015 at Barcelo. We are just in the beginning stages of planning, and from what I noticed from all the other brides I probably should have started a year ago! Makes me nervous to say the least!

I had originally booked the blueberry dream package, but in hind site I decided to upgrade to the mint breeze. (I am still waiting for a response from the WC of this is allowed). I have a few things I'm hoping you guys could help me out with...

Has anyone ever brought thier own officiant?

Have most people brought their own decorations?

Has anyone used a cigar roller at thier reception? Was it worth it?

Reviews on outside photographers... Del Sol or Ivan Luckie?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Brides!

I am in the process of planning my wedding at the Barcelo Maya Palace on 5/12/16 and I wanted to reach out to all who are also in the planning process.

One of the biggest things that can cause the most stress is finding a photographer, and I was lucky enough to have another bride share her tips with me, so I figured I would pay it forward and do the same. Although the wedding is still a few months away, I would recommend Octavio Montes to anyone who is looking for themselves. http://www.octaviomontes.com/

I was originally just doing google searches, and was only coming up with really expensive photographers, so when I saw this recommendation I was really excited to check it out. Not only is this one of the most affordable options, it is actually cheaper than using the Barcelo photographer even with having to pay the $500 resort fee.

I keep hearing that my wedding day will fly by, so I feel extremely relieved to know that we have all of our special moments ready to be captured!

Happy Planning to all!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
