I have read rave reviews about both and I am torn about who to go with. There is more on facebook with pictures and reviews but wedding websites they both have great reviews. Anyone have any input between the 2? I know Trio is huge on this site and it is more expensive, is it worth it even if you don't use Adrian? I have thick hair and can be pretty wild in Mexican humidity so I need someone who can handle it and make it look good and last all day/night long. Thank ladies I appreciate it!

I've just started looking into this so I'm not much help! I've priced out styling trio - it's more for me than my resort charges BUT cheaper for my bridal party so that makes me happy. Unsure I can suck up the vendor fee though :( and not sure I'm comfortable leaving the resort. I have heard rave things about my resorts spa so may have to stick to that. Good luck and let us know what you decide

ohhhh, I went back and read my contract and I actually can't just pay a vendor fee and be on my way. It states I need hotel management's approval if it's for a service they provide on site. And there are strict rules about the info I have to provide them and where the people can be, etc.  EWWW sounds daunting.

I've already decided I'm up for Styling Trio. Just that I like what I see and you can go to them if you want, which for me is a better option for what we're looking at. They were super responsive when I emailed them.

I booked MVP and they have been a dream to communicate with so far. They are on the pricy side but with the pictures and everything, they are worth it in my opinion. You only get married once and have those pictures for life, so for me, it was worth it to book them. However, they weren't allowed on my resort (Bahia principe are kind of sticklers with outside vendors) so I had to get a hotel room in nearby Akumal bay for them to do our hair and makeup. However, Edgar (who runs the business side of MVP) knows which resorts allow them and which don't.

Good luck with whomever you choose :)

Both work is fabulous!  I would go for whoever is cheaper...

@@Mrsktobe    If you don't mind me asking, what did that hotel room cost? I am currently speaking with MVP to see if I could go to their shop. I said I didn't want to leave the resort, but honestly...their prices are better for all of us (me and my bridal party) compared to my resort. So I am seriously considering it now.

Hotel room all together was 165.41 for a beach front room in Akumal (which is not even a 5 minute taxi drive away). We were going to go to Playa Del Carmen to get it done when we heard we couldn't bring them on the resort but honestly, it wasn't worth the hassle of getting everyone up super early, driving 30 minutes to PDC and then rushing back.  Akumal is one of my favorites, if not favorite beach ever, so I'm super stoked to get our hair and makeup done there. We ended up getting a beach front, ground floor room so the ladies (there are 10 of us all together) can come and go out of the room as they please on to the beach or just sitting outside. and since it's only 5 minutes away, we don't have to rush :) Worth it in my opinion!

Thank you, I may consider this option!  MVP told me that my resort to them is atleast 40 mins, ouch! And a cab ride both ways may be near as much as that hotel room!   I believe our resorts are SUPER close to eachother so this gives me a good idea of timing.

I will definitely let you know how I make out! When you price out taking a taxi for everyone and the time, honestly it's about the same. I don't want to feel rushed on my wedding day but I didn't want the makeup and hair people on the resort either, so this was my way of doing it. BToppings on here has done the same thing as me as well, so we will have two of us to report back :)

Thanks! ! will await your review.  I have heard great things about my resort and their work, but their prices are a little steep! So just researching options.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
