Hanger For Your Wedding Dress!

Recommended Posts

I hadn't really put any thought into this whatsoever until last night when I read a fabulous blog by Misti (Bohemia Photography) and it really made sense!  Such a beautiful dress to be on such an ugly plastic hanger!

So I got on to Etsy to scope some out.

They have an array of prices and choices - your name, 'bride', with or without your wedding date.

I found this vendor who's shipping is decent and her reviews are GREAT!!  I like the idea of using 'Mrs Bourque' and getting a hot pink bow to mach my wedding colors. https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/119862465/wedding-dress-hanger-personalized-bridal?ref=favs_view_1

Also liked this lady's work - https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/185255240/bride-hanger-wedding-dress-hanger-bridal?ref=favs_view_2 - and maybe too the fact the dress in her pictures is MY wedding dress :)

What are you all doing?

If your search the DIY thread here there are instructions to make them and it looks relatively easy!!! I'm going to be attempting this project for myself and my girls!

I am into some DIY, but not this one!!  I just cringed thinking of doing it.

I have saw some other brides just hand write the names on them too, which looks great - but I prefer the wire!

Can't wait to see how yours turn out.

The frugal side of me says '$35 for a hanger!!' but it's a beautiful keepsake just for me.

Very pretty!  I want to get a pretty hanger, but not necessarily a personalized one.  I still haven't come to terms with possibly taking his last name either haha.

So I'm going to get this one - http://www.bhldn.com/product/heirloom-hangers-mr

I want a pretty hanger for pics, but I'm going to see If I can sell it after to recoup some of the cost :).

Very nice!

I didn't say it in the first post, but I was considering the 'bride' one to resell it, but I don't plan to sell my dress (well not considering it at this point) so figured my dress would need the hanger forever!

I can't wait to take his last name, we were being silly the other night and were trying out my new signature!

@@calgarybride2015 - I think I'm more pragmatic/frugal than sentimental so I'm hoping to sell my dress AND hanger at the end of this :). And anything else I can too haha.  The pics, video and small keepsakes here and there will be enough for me :)

I don't know if I'm odd with the last name change, but I just can't bring myself to want to haha.  I quite like my name the way it is now.  My FI very strongly wants me to take his though.  I read a thread about practicing a new signature and I literally was like  because I couldn't even fathom having to change my signature. I plan to just not do anything about it though because my FI will be too lazy to get or do any of the paper work himself haha

It's funny because I am very much like you. I am always finding things to sell on Kijiji and when I started on this wedding journey I was the very frugal, can't splurge on anything, bride. But a few things I really love the idea of and go for it.  My mindset is changing A LOT and it may hurt the pocketbook here soon ha!

You are legally getting married though right?  If you don't want too and fiance doesn't push it, then hey - it's your choice to make!  I don't like my last name whatsoever (sorry dad!) and I don't have my kids last name so I have no reason to keep it, per say.

@@calgarybride2015 - Well, I'm frugal about some things but VERY spendy about others haha - it's got to balance out, right? :P I'm currently trying to justify getting things like a $200 personalized cake topper, or the $700 wedding shoes I'm dying for haha... but frugality will probably win out

We are legally getting married.  It's not a requirement to change last names though, and I'm pretty attached to mine.  It alliterates, and is fairly uncommon whereas his is the most common Korean last name - Kim.  It's basically the equivalent of "Smith". Soo yeah... just going to leave it and see if he pushes more or not.  I love my FI but he's weirdly traditional about some things!

Kim is a great name :P

I am sure the frugality will win over the $800 shoes too!  I bet they are beautiful.   If I was to marry at home I knew which shoes I was getting (heels) but thankfully I don't have to worry about the $200 price tag on those.

I bought a 'B" cake topper but honestly? I may not use it. I love the look of the cakes with just flowers on top and my cake topper may get in the way!  I may return it, haven't decided yet.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
