Hi! I've been engaged since Christmas Eve 2013. I've been researching online and finally found this forum! I'd like to find a kid friendly all inclusive that's fun for adults, too! We still don't have a wedding date, so that's flexible for now. Ideally, I'd like a destination that has consistently good weather, turquoise waters, white sands, a golf course, a great wedding coordinator, teen activities, care for my babies, clean and modern, and not too expensive so my friends don't break the bank coming along. Is that too much to ask, LOL ! I know there are several in the Caribbean but don't know which one to pick! Thanks in advance!

Welcome and congrats! Not sure where you are from but your first priority will be to find a TA that specializes in destination weddings. There are lots of choices out there for destinations and a great TA will help you find the perfect location! If you are from the US I would suggest reaching out to Wright Travel as they have amazing relationships with many resorts and can assist in making your trip as fabulous as possible! If you are Canadian, there are many of us Canadians

here who can suggest some great TAs that specialize in Canadian packages (our all inclusives are set up differently than the US ones).

Have fun! You have found the best forum on the net!!

I decided on the Bahia Principe Coba for our wedding, we will have 4 kids from the ages of 18 months to 11ish and they have a waterpark, but they also have a quiet pool and a nightclub and other adult activities, and apparently it's really close to Xel-ha.  I've never been there before, but they had good reviews and the wedding package prices are reasonable.

Thank you for the wonderful advice! It's so hard to plan a wedding with kids! They are 14, 27 months, and 8 months. I want my closest friends to have a great time, but want the little ones taken care of as well. I'll check out your suggestions!

Congratulations! We are having our wedding in Jamaica since that is where my fiance is from, but I will say we had trouble finding a family-friendly, all-inclusive resort in Jamaica that fit our needs. We made a few compromises and decided on Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Montego bay. There are many, many adults only resorts in Jamaica that we had to rule out! We've stayed in Mexico 3 times (Riviera Maya) and had great experiences at RIU Palace Riviera Maya and Dreams Riviera Cancun. Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic also has gorgeous beaches  - depending on where you are coming from it may be harder to get desirable flights to the DR compared to Mexico.

A travel agent will definitely help - I just did a ton of research on my own so I was completely comfortable with our ultimate decision. Of course, you'll find lots of helpful people on here to answer all your burning questions!

Happy planning!

The Barcelo in our magnificent Mayan Riviera sounds like it could be a great fit for what you're looking for.....certainly worth a look.

To show you what a picturesque backdrop it would make for your wedding photos, here's an excerpt from this recent wedding our premier photographer, Linc captured : Barcelo Maya Palace Wedding Album

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
