Has Anyone Done Stadium Cups Instead Of Tumblers?

Recommended Posts

I'm just wondering if any brides on here have done stadium cups instead of acrylic tumblers or bubbas??  How did they go over?

I'm considering them and cozies for our gift bags instead of acrylic because of a)cost and B) packing space.  And I am willing to bet most people won't keep any cup when they go home.

I guess I'm more worried about the size - they are pretty close to resort sized cups and I always take my cup with me on vacation because it means less trips to the bar! Lol.

I have seen posts on here (OOT threads) where people have done stadium cups.

This was a hard one for me.  We REALLY wanted to do bubba's because who doesn't have one to travel! lol! They are the greatest idea ever.  That said, it just wasn't in our budget as we have 45 ish people coming at $6 a pop, then shipping, customs, etc.  EEK!

I wasn't going to do anything, but then decided to do the tumblers. We are filling them up with some goodies.

What I am doing for travelling is actually stacking them inside eachother to save on space.  Then will assemble them when we arrive  (I may play around and if it takes same the space to travel with them assembled (less the straw) then I may go this route).

I think the stadium cups, if they are bigger than the resort cups, is still a good idea!

Personally I feel all cups will be used when they are back at home - especially from the girls haha!

I made sure not to personalize them with our names or wedding date to ensure people would use them again.

Personally, I wouldn't waste money on a kozie, but that is my opinion -- if you want them used at the resort.  A kozie would be great for a gift back home, but most resorts don't use cans/bottles unless you meant for your stadium cups?

I was thinking about doing the cozies on the cups to keep the drinks colder.

I like the idea of tumblers but have had a hard time with the cost of them. Where did you get them and how much were they? My initial plan was to do the same as you - put some goodies in the cup.

I got clear ones at dollarama for $2 each. I had to go to 2 stores but got all 45!

I know dollar tree has ones for $1.25 but they were colorful which isn't a bad thing either.

Inside I plan to do hand sanitizer, mints, Tylenol, Pepto, emergen c, Tums, bandaids and maybe some wipes. They aren't that big so not even a pack of gum would fit nicely ha! I'd say these are costing me maybe $250-$275 as I couldn't find those neat sample packs the USA girls have but I couldn't stop thinking about them so just did it.

I ordered the labels off etsy and sucked up the $20 shipping :(

I told my fiancé that for the amount of times we end up at cowboys casino we can get the darn cups and fill em lol

lol @@calgarybride2015 what sample packs?

Like the 2 pack tylenols or Imodium or the like. I couldn't find any in Canada without ludacris shipping costs. The travel sized ones were the cheapest.

@@calgarybride2015 just to clarify, you are doing an OOT tumbler instead of an OOT bag?

I love that idea!

Yup!

I wasn't going to do any because of the cost but the cups (bubba's) were always a big idea for us. So I got the tumblers as my compromise. When I had mentioned to fiancé about the hangover kits he loved the idea. So we kind of went from there. We decided to fill up the cups! It's more cost effective for us as it definitely limits what can go in them :) I've never considered the bags to be honest so this one works more for us!

That is a great idea! I have been looking at the cups at my local dollar store and really want to use them but the cost was adding up. This seems like the perfect compromise.

For us it totally is too!

Glad you like the idea!

Here is a little breakdown of what I think they will cost.

Cups $2 each

Hand Sanitizer $1 each

Pepto $8.50 for a 48 pack x 2

Tylenol $2 each

Emergen C $5 for a pack of 30 x2

Tums $2.14 for a pack of 3 x 14

Mentos $0.50

Bandaids $10 ish total

So making about 41 cups for adults is about $7.45 each.

I increased some of my numbers to account for the 4 people we have who are 'maybes'

For the kids cups I just plan to throw in cards or crayons/paper and some candy from the Dollarstore so maybe another $5-10.

Doing up the numbers above is just over $300 so my first count was off. I think that was before I added the Emergen C, but still not bad I don't think.  I have to buy extras of some things due to how their packaging works!

I could cut some of it out but I think it's a well rounded cup of items lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
