Are You Guys Getting Professional Hair And Makeup Done?

Recommended Posts

@@calgarybride2015, are you going to go to a MAC in Mexico, or do it Canada and try to replicate?

MAC in Canada and try to replicate!!  keyword is TRY!

Personally, if we get step my step instructions I feel it shouldn't be too hard to replicate it.

There are a lot of women who do wonderful makeup on themselves, so I know I can be taught LOL!!!

If all else fails I can use their spa!

@@calgarybride2015 If you're worried about flawless photo skin, I'm sure worse comes to worse with editing from the photographer your skin will be amazing regardless! lol Even during my impromptu engagement photos my skin was flawless with nothing but my regular make up routine.

I'm planning on using the resort spa - hair and make-up day of wedding is part of my package. I was sent some photos of the work done and it seems to be pretty good. My fiancé is also really big on me looking like "me". I plan to look like me but also don't want to look like I did nothing out of the norm to myself...I would like a touch of glamour! I think it's a great idea to go somewhere to get tips, I may do the same just in case. My moh is also pretty good at doing make up and will likely take care of the bridesmaids. Hoping the trial hair run will be good!

I have sun spots which I am sure are going to be front and centre in that heat!!  So a good foundation will be high on my list.  If I can achieve the look thru someone showing me at MAC then I am all for that.  I want to look myself too, but I also want a bit more than my normal routine (ie I NEVER wear lipstick but will for my wedding day)  Also want some more tips on making my eyes pop.   I may give fake lashes a try too.

@@calgarybride2015  I think my fiancé will like how I look with lashes but wouldn't want him to dislike it as he has made it clear he wants me to look natural lol He saw pics from a wedding I went to in the past - and said he didn't like my hair or makeup for it....he said this almost a year after the wedding though lol I had loved my hair and make up! So I I agree though, I want to look like myself but with a bang. I don't want the guests at my wedding to have a better make up job than me!

all good ideas ladies! I would definitely recommend a trial if you are having a friend or BP member do it for you. OH and have them write down the products they used (eye shadow color, lipstick, etc.) that way on the big day they know exactly which direction to head in.

Is there anyone who has come across a wedding at the Sandos Finisterra in Cabo who has used the hotel's hair and makeup services? It is included in my package but won't get there until 2 days before the wedding so kind of hard to plan if it is a disaster...

Not for cabo but in Mayan I do. My friend married there and loved her hair.

@@calgarybride2015 do you have pictures you could send me or a photographers website? I would think they would hold the same standards for all resorts.

Hmmm I could ask her to send me a picture. We aren't on Facebook so I can't snoop. Not sure which photographer she used.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
