Dw Dress...follow The Rules?

Recommended Posts

I am hoping with the alterations that I won't need to do too much either, other then the hem of course.  Good luck on your virtual fitting!

Got my dress on Friday and with the customize sizing, I will need very little additional alterations!  Just the hem and the straps come adjustable, so they just need to be sewn into place.  So happy it fit so well and won't have to pay a lot to get alterations!

Yay! That is so awesome. I had my virtual fitting last week and I was so excited that they could make the dress with the top from a small and the rest a medium (I wish my top was a medium too but, alas) - it is so great that they do the free customization! I'm also having them raise the back one inch to cover a tattoo I got when I was 17 - I'm not anti-tattoo, just mine in particular. Ha. I attached a pic of me in it!

(I actually got the Lanai - same as Poipu except for the cup shape.)

Are you getting married on the beach? I'm not sure if I should get it hemmed for barefoot/flats, or if I should leave it a little longer for heels for the reception. I don't want to trip on it when I'm wearing it barefoot.

Looks great!!  I didn't know this but they have built in cups to add a little extra on top (I definitely need it in the size that fits me).  So all you have to do is put in the extra fillers (instead of having that altered too).  I had to have the back raised an inch too, cause the top of my butt was showing lol.

Yes, I am getting married on the beach so going barefoot for that and then looking for shoes for the reception.  I am just going to have it altered for the shoes and it will drag a little bit on the sand.  The sales gal said I will just have to hold it a bit when I walk, but the dress is so so long when it arrives, a few inches will (fingers crossed) be okay and I won't trip!

I ended up going with something more formal than I had thought I wanted, but it's still flowy and beachy. When I put it on, I just loved it and felt comfortable. I, personally, am not a fan of satin, so I knew I didn't want to go that route. Also, I have a large chest, so I knew I didn't want strapless. This dress has a nice little train too. I also have a mid-length veil with subtle silver beading along the edge and the flower clip for my hair (the beading and stitching is more silver in person). (I have long hair but I plan to wear it back in a loose bun of some sort.) Then I have my glitter shoes (!!!!), which I'll be wearing for the reception.

The short dress is my "back-up" dress. I am trying to be realistic in thinking that I might get overheated being in my dress for 6+ hours, so I wanted to get a cute white dress that I could change into, if need be, and still look like the bride. This one was very reasonably priced, so it was worth it to me to at least have it. I might get a glitzy belt/sash for it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
