Family Cant Come Due To Pregnancy- Trash The Dress?

Recommended Posts

As an update for my previous post- My new sister in law found out that her due date is incredibly close to our wedding in Mexico.

Her parents told us last night that they, along with my FI's grandparents won’t be able to make it.

As difficult of a decision to make, my FI didn't feel right about getting married without his mother and grandmother.

We ended up needing to cancel our wedding reservations, but we are still planning on taking the vacation to Mexico.

I still want to do something in Mexico for our wedding, and want to do a trash the dress session for a wedding photo album (I can't help but feel that a trash the dress would have incredible symmetry to the situation we are in)

Does anyone have any good ideas, location tips, references for a trash the dress session in the Riviera Maya Mexico??

Oh my gosh I'm so sorry to hear that. So what are you going to do? Have a full wedding at home instead? A trash the dress would be a really fun thing to do. Why don't you talk to your photographer about it and see what they suggest? Rather than cancelling the photographer completely, you could do a few shots in your dress, then lead into a TTD session.

Good luck and keep us posted!

@@BusyBee280 - Oh my goodness, I am SO sorry to hear that.  Are you having your wedding at home now? Your date is so soon in November - did you have people already put down deposits?

If you do have to move everything, please yes at least have a TTD. The cenotes look gorgeous - that's where I want to do mine

Good luck and please keep us updated

@BetsyBee280 Wow, I can't even imagine e everything you guys must be feeling right now. But, I"m glad you're hanging in there! I think second the suggestions for cenotes and the photos in Tulum also look amazing! the beach is gorgeous and there are some secluded areas where you two can feel more intimate I'm sure. Good luck and enjoy your time together

I am so sorry for what you are going thru - it must have been a tough decision and you seem to be handling it very well.

Cudos to you for doing what your fiance needs in this tough time!

I second you going and doing a trash the dress. Enjoy yourselves. Will this be like a honeymoon? Are you getting married at home beforehand or?

Good luck!

I like the idea! I do want a few shots in the dress before I go into the water. We are planning a small wedding at home, and bringing everyone out for dinner. We are keeping the dinner reservations in Mexico for anyone who wants to join, and we are planning the "trash the dress" too. I'm still unsure of how to go about getting out there etc. My dad wants us to buy a camera that we can take the pictures ourselves.

policy states that we can use the money towards extras on our room bill.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
