We will most likely use Air Transat/Nolitours as that's the only direct flight out of Saskatoon that works with the resort I want.

ahhhh that is so fascinating about the different charter planes. It would be nice to book in advance. I just have to wait until the commercial flight prices are more normalized- its too far out for me now. I live in the Midwest, which is good sometimes- it is about 3-4 hours nonstop to cancun or puerto vallarta, but if you live on either coast you have advantages to different places.

I booked 9 months in advance and my flight got changed - well cancelled, then changed to another day!

Our flight from Calgary, AB to Cancun is close to 6 hours non stop!

Totally felt this guilt at the beginning of my planning but we have had such a great response from our families and close friends! I have been to the resort where we are having our DW so I am confident in the quality of food, drink, and experience overall so that helps too. Ultimately, I feel as you all do. The people who make it a priority are the ones who will be there and I plan to thank them generously. Not everyone will see a value in a DW or understand why we want one, and that's okay! More sun, fun, and tequila for the rest of us lol

i always thought the site was started by a Canadian bride. I love this site although I do feel out of place on a number of levels; I'm American and not having a beach wedding, having a weekend party. However, this is by far the best bridal planning site I've found and the only one I'm active on! I love it here. The brides, the ideas, the downloads, the ideas, the templates, did I mention the ideas?! ;)  :)

I'm Shocked there aren't more Vegas brides on here. Vegas is still my first choice hehe but I'm super excited with Mexico and to

Honeymoon in Vegas.

I have still not been to Vegas! One day :-)

I can totally relate to the guilt! More so because of a little push back I was getting. However, there are much more people who are excited about it and really looking forward to being in Mexico - and this made me more excited about it! I just learned that all of my sisters will be going (we grew up apart so we are rarely all in the same place at the same time). It would be a nice way to celebrate and have some quality time in a tropical place! Needless to say, I'm feeling less and less guilty about the price.

I can't tell you how many tears I've shed over the exact same thing. I keep reminding myself that it doesn't matter who is there, it's about the two of us joining in marriage, as long as my fiancé is there everyone else is just a bonus....but that is easier said than done when some of my friends and family have said things I've found a little hurtful. I really need to stop taking everything to heart but that's not the kind of person I am. We've had people complain about the cost and I've also felt like I had to "sell" people on coming and others are really excited and are thinking of it as a vacation, which is what we want. A very wise bride said to me on here once- There are two things that bring out the best and worst in people: weddings and funerals. I find that to be totally true!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
