Florists In The Mayan Riviera Area

Recommended Posts

I am having a hard time trying to find a florist in the Mayan Riviera area. I have Googled and asked around. I contacted three places and no one has emailed me back. I am shocked at how hard it is to find a florist in Mexico for my wedding :( So discouraged that I may end up doing silk flowers just to save myself anymore hassle.. guess they don't want to make money off me.

I really just want to know what kind of prices I would be looking at for fresh bouquets. Silks can be just as nice but I didn't want the hassle of bringing more stuff with us. But ultimately I plan to do what's the cheapest anyway but I can't compare when no one has given me a quote.

Do any of you ladies know roughly what a bouquet and 4 bridesmaid bouquets would cost for fresh flowers in the Mayan Riviera area?

Hey, does your resort not offer these services for you?

My bouquet is included but for 3 gerberas, greenery, and white ribbon it will cost me $22 each.

But for my bouquet to upgrade me from small to medium in size is $42. Makes no sense but ok haha!

Sorry I wasn't much help!

Resorts are about the same it seems (look at the Excellence websties for pricing). They usually have the bride and groom flowers included for basic flowers (usually lilies, roses, etc.). Otherwise, I've been quoted 15-250 for bridal bouquet and 50-75 for bridesmaids. Orchids are what raised the price

calgarybride2015 yes our resort has flowers but none of the bouquets are even close to what I'm looking for. I emailed my WC but she has not emailed me back either.

My bouquet and grooms bout are included but they aren't very tropical feeling. Just lilies with another accent flower in it that I'm not fond of. If i cant find anything else they would work if I need them but was hoping to have a little more tropical feel.

spjwedding thanks for rough estimates as to what I'm looking at for prices. I will go check the site.

I'm going to preface this with the usual warning. lol Your wedding isn't until March so still a long way off. The florists will all be dealing with weddings that are much closer than yours. They will email you back but you will need to just sit tight. There are several very good ones - who did you email?

You need to remember this is Mexico, and the pace of life is much different than it is here. I know for all ladies that your wedding is the important overriding thing on your mind, but the florists are dealing with hundreds of other weddings besides yours. I know it tests the patience. We want immediate answers to everything. It will all come together, I assure you.

In our package we had like 40 pics to choose from but it stated they would make a bouquet of anything I wanted so as it was in the 'free flowers' section.   they also had flowers in the 'extra charge' section.  My guess is that they will do it for you, so hopefully she gets back to you soon!!

if you bring flowers in, you may have to pay that external supplier fee which irks me!

jeepers make me sound like bridezilla. .I am aware I'm not the only wedding happening and my wedding is 7 months away...I am just that organized and want to make sure things are lined up. With so many weddings happening I wanted to line up a florist in Mexico so I wasn't without. And with so many weddings I am under the impression that the more time you give them the better.

BUT I can rest easy because I heard back from my WC and I am relieved to find out flowers are much cheaper than I anticipated :D So I don't have to organize silk flower bouquets.

Thanks calgarybride2015 my resort does have the option to upgrade and even though the bouquet I like wasn't listed they can create the one I want : D

lol - with little exception I have to honestly say I don't think I've ever actually seen a true bridezilla here!!!!  and you definitely aren't one!!! (I've seen the tv bride shows so you definitely aren't one!!! lol)

The one thing I see on here so much is that everyone wonders why WCs or vendors don't get back to them as quickly as they would like. The wedding planning process is quite a bit different for a wedding outside of the US or Canada, whether it's Mexico or Jamaica or somewhere else. I remember I totally freaked out when I heard that the WC at our resort in Jamaica wouldn't be in touch with me about details until just a couple of months before our wedding. Then we had our meeting with here a couple of days before our wedding and I truthfully wondered why I had worried at all, and that was even with all of our plans completely falling apart.  I did go through fairly slow response times with our florist in Ocho Rios of about a week or so but she did get back to me and in the end it turned out just fine.

I should have added that there are several really good florists that different brides here have dealt with and have either give the thumbs up or thumbs down to. I do have a couple of names if you're still trying to get in touch with more than one but @@calgarybride2015 is absolutely right in that you will need to ask your WC about bringing in flowers from outside in case they hit you up with the vendor fee. Having said that, there are ladies here that have gotten around that fee by going out either to a front gate or main entrance, or having someone go for them on the day of their wedding, to meet the florist delivery so that they can't be tagged as actually being an outside vendor.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
