@kcole123 its posted here...its actually too big for me so I have to get it altered anyways...its not as fancy as most wedding dresses...maybe I'm watching too much say yes to the dress.

It's beautiful!! I was also worried about mine but once hair, makeup, and accessories were on I looked like a bride. As will you :)

Hey @tygrrlily
Did you have a video done too?

Me and Nathan are trying to come to a decision. He said well we can do trash the dress if you leave out the video. Men can be so tough sometimes.

@kcole123 - We do, but we haven't received it yet.  Haha I didn't give Tony a choice. Told him the photography packaged included a TTD ;).  My parents actually really wanted the video so they paid for the videography! Not sure if we would have gotten it otherwise but I am happy now that we did because the day goes by so fast and I would love to relive everything.

Personally I'd prob. rather go videographer but it depends on what you think you would rather have

Easier said than done. He says he really don't care for the video. So he said we can do trash the dress and leave out the video. He's not being easy at all. I should of just booked stuff and told him after. That's what I did with everything else and it was fine. He is looking at the overall cost of all the photography and videography and he's saying its way too much money. He thinks $200 is expensive for pictures for God sakes.

@Meandhim - I was worried my dress was a bit plain as well.  I do love it, but I also loved more elaborate ones.  Ultimately chose mine because it was simple and beautiful and felt "appropriate" for a DW.  I know you can choose whatever dress you want for a DW but the huge poufy gowns seem a bit out of place to me.

I think if I were having a big Toronto wedding I'd have chosen a different dress though - something w/ a bit more oomph.  I *almost* bought Martina Liana's 444 below but the fabric seemed all wrong for Mexico though I still have a bit of dress regret/envy.  I also love the Monique L'huillier Bliss I tried on at Kleinfield's but way over budget - ahh.  Def. too much say yes to the dress

And as the other ladies have stated, when you are all done up with hair, makeup, flowers and jewellry, it makes a world of difference :).

@kcole123 - Men have NO idea the costs of weddings.  Does he have friends that got married?  That helped me because my husband would hear about how much things cost our Toronto friends.  So really, what we were paying was cheap in comparison :P

I think some people just think about it in terms of how they perceive it's value.  My husband isn't into pics or videos either - he's only looked at our pics maybe once and not all of them.  I've prob. looked at our pics at least 20 times already :). I'm sure the same will be said about our video

@tygrrlily

you know mine was the same! (am I surprised? no haha) I barely got him to agreed to buy 4 hours of pictures. He was like, 1 hour is plenty haha.

We weren't going to get video but then I found some old videos from when my brother and I were kids and they're priceless. Mind you, kids are more fun than adults haha, but it's so nice to be able to look back and see what you looked like, how you acted and sometimes be able to see and remember people who are no longer with you. When he saw the videos he said that he wished he also had something similar from when he was a kid, and we decided our wedding was something we needed to have video of. We ended up splitting our photography budget in two, which meant no TTD

If it's TTD vs. videography, honestly the TTD was fun but it was also a lot of WORK. My husband was hungover the whole shoot and really cranky - he was very tempted to just call it quits after a while but I told him it'd be a waste of money!  We were so exhausted at the end of that day.  It was really tiring to keep doing the same under water shots again and again - and cold! Just a FYI

The videographer just kind of follows you around all day of your wedding so you're not really doing much extra

That dress is gorgeous, but yeah, I wanted to stay away from shiny fabrics for the beach. They look like they're way too hot :).

I can't wait to see how everything goes together. I'm so scared that I'm going to look ugly in all my pictures hahaha

I find guys are all about practicality. If you can tell them a use for something, they're more likely to agree to it (at least mine is). I find it kinda fascinating how men are so oblivious to weddings. Sometimes I complain that everything is a fight, but sometimes he does help me see that I'm being totally irrational about something super expensive that in the end won't make a difference. Other things, I just won't let go, like the photos.

Hahaha good advice gals. I am soon giving up and just keeping what we got. No point in continuing to argue over it. And the sad face on me isn't working this time.
Maybe once I give up he will give in.
I actually sat back and watched a couple YouTube videos last night of wedding so have no idea of who the people are. But I wanted to see Pastor York perform a ceremony. Nathan come into the room and laughed and said "what are you watching others people's videos now?" Haha

They are very oblivious!  Mine had maybe 5% involvement in all of our planning haha.  But you know what he said after it was all said and done?  That I did a great job and that he was glad for all the "extras" that he had previously complained about, because they really made a difference!  OOT bags for example - he thought I was wasting a lot of money when I was getting stuff for them, but he saw how much everyone appreciated and used everything and he was glad we did them!

For planning things, I just stopped asking him at a certain point and told him instead :P - but I wasn't really extravagant on anything and stayed within our budget.  If there was something I *had* to have (haha gold Tiffany chairs and chargers), I made it work and just pushed things around

G'luck ladies! I gave up on trying to force Tony into helping me plan things pretty early on b/c personally I knew it'd just lead to arguments.  Easier to plan myself - made both of us happier that way
