Any Wedding Dress Regrets?

Recommended Posts

I'm second guessing myself as well. I keep thinking maybe I bought the wrong cut (too much puff) and the details aren't right for me. I'm actually in the midst of freaking out right now. :(

I had this same problem...I had ordered a dress online(my downfall) i was convinvced to order somethig online where it was cheaper. So I took the risk knowing what could happen. Lets just say what I thought would happened...happened...even though I sent my exact measurements the dress was AWEFUL!!!!. It took about 2 months to arrive and when I tried it on for the first time, although it was cheap it wasnt worth it at all....So last week, (it being 4 months until I leave for the wedding) I still didnt have a dress. Can you say FREAKING OUT!!!!....I was on my lunch and happend to walk into a prom store just seeing what they had...where I knew the look I was going for and havent found it in a bridal store...I walked in and within minutes I found my dress, this was without even trying it on It was exactly what I had pictured my dress to look like...when I tried it on IT FIT LIKE A GLOVE.....the feeling I felt was AMAZING...I didnt want to take it off...this is how you should feel when finding your dress, dont be cheated from this expereince. Now for me I am pushing the time limit theyhave to order my dress from NYC in ivory where it wasnt in the store in that color and wont be here until end of march beginning of april...we leave May 4th, 2015. The only thing I will need is to have it hemmed...so my advice go for what you want and love and dont settle for something because its something someone else wants you to get (money reason). You will know when you found the dress I PROMISE!!!! I think about this dress all the time and cant wait untl it gets here to put it back on lol...I know I sound crazy!!!!! I will try ti pics online for you guys but the only ones I can find are the front pics and you have to see the amazing back to this dress....I will try to go back and take pics in this dress for you guys so you have the sense of a real photo as opposed to a model online in it lol...good luck ladies and remember you need to feel that feeling!!!dont skimp out on your dress!!!

I no longer have any wedding dress regrets. Have had my first dress fitting yesterday and was much happier than the visit the dress they call it. I left yesterday very excited and happy withn my decision.

I have posted a pic of the dress from months ago when I tried it and the second pic is from yesterday. Having to get it taken in also made me happier.

@@kcole123 the Dress looks beautiful on you!!! No need for regrets!

I am also having dress regrets...I bought my dress almost a year before my original date of April 1st 2015 and now that my wedding is not until Nov now I feel like I could find something better.  I took it to my Brother in Laws house after I bought it so my FI wouldn't see it and I haven't tried it on since.... feeling a little bummed about it...

@@Meandhim At times I feel a little bummed out about my dress as well. I dont think I have regrets, I think it is because I havent seen it in a while. Like you I took my dress to my Sister in Laws place last August and have not had it on since. Thankfully I have pictures that I can look at when I get bummed and when I look at the pictures I still get very excited. Maybe your first step is to go and try it on again? Maybe once you have it on again you will have that 'this is the one' feeling again.

@@MissJen3 I do the same. I have it at home because my fiance and i don't live together yet :) so sometimes I'll try it on again and all my doubts are gone. Another thing that helped is that every time I see a dress online and I'm like, "oh i love that one", it looks like mine hahha.

The only thing that bummed me out the other day, my fiance was trying to get me to tell him what the dress looked like (he's so impatient he doesn't like surprises haha) and I wouldn't budge but I asked him what he thought it looked like. He said, "well I don't think it will be puffy, think it's going to be tight and with little sleeves". HA! nothing like my dress. I know that he wanted something tight on me because I have a pretty big bum and he likes it hahah but I tried on mermaid dresses and I liked them, but I didn't love them. I liked them more for the fact that I knew he was going to love it, rather than me loving them (if that makes any sense at all). Now I know that I love the dress, but I hope he does too :(

I am starting to, not actually regret. But I fell in love with another dress and my mom wasnt able to make shopping with me my first go round. So I am selling the one I bought. She is beautiful though

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
