Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Michelle and I am getting married at the Sandos Finisterra on February 15, 2014, so I am sort of in the thick of the planning stages right now.  We are going up to the Finisterra in November to meet with the outside wedding coordinator I have hired and all of the vendors that we are looking at to provide services for our wedding.  Are there any Sandos Finisterra brides out there you can share their wedding experience at the Sandos?

Thanks,

Michelle

I am getting married at the Finisterra June of 2015 (still waiting to confirm a date). @@DVon18 mentioned a recent wedding in another post (takes you to a blog with AMAZING pictures!) but its something to take a look at. I can't wait to here some more recent reviews as well. We just went for a site visit (and annual vacation) in the end of June and loved it. Happy planning :)

@@MichelleT I am also getting married at Sandos Finisterra in Sept. of 2015. I'm glad to see that others have chosen this place as I was having some concerns because there weren't many reviews back in May...but the ladies on here have been quite helpful.

@@DVon18 It seems will be the one getting married there very soon so I am waiting to get her reviews.

Good luck on your planning and Congrats!!  :)

@@soulgroovy I was between Gilda badillo and Bradley Fraser. There are quite a few options when it comes to photographers. I ended up with Bradley because I wasn't thrilled with the lighting in Gilda's photos, but tons of people have given her excellent reviews on here. I am going with the hair and makeup at the hotel and taking my chances. My worst case is that I do my own. I am a little nervous but I think it will be okay. I sent Lupita a picture of what I wanted and the salon said they could do it.

@@DVon18 I am looking forward to seeing your pictures as heard Bradley Fraser is amazing.  I actually went with Gilda Badiollo, as I liked her photos and she was very flexible in willing to work with me on breaking the actual package in to 3 sessions...1 hour for engagement photos when we go in November, 5 hours for the ceremony and 1 hour 2 days after the ceremony for a honeymoon shoot.

With the hair, I am sure you will be in excellent hands with the salon at the resort.  My dilemma was that I my three daughters and my sister (my wedding party), along with my mom will be getting their hair done so I needed extra reinforcements :-)

@@DVon18 do you mean Lupita?  If so, she has not sent me any pictures.  When I was contemplating using the resorts salon services she never asked me if I wanted to see pictures, but she told me I could do a trial on my hair in November, which is 3 months prior to the wedding, which was somewhat concerning as knowing me, I will change my mind a million times before the wedding :-)

Was Lupita able to send you any pictures of their work?  When we visited the salon in November I did not see any photos of hair and makeup from the resort either.

@@hyoungquist Lupita sent me a few pictures of brides who has their hair done, but they were all down and curled and I was looking for an updo since my hair does not hold curl well. The salon is accomodating 6 bridesmaids, myself, the groom's mother and my mother. We just have to go at different times which was okay with me. I am going to schedule a trial so I know what I am getting even though at that point it won't really matter.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
