I'm loving all the stuff in your last post. That basket for the beach balls is amazing. I love how it looks with the coral flower :)

The cups look great and I love the fans. I just love rafia fans :)

I think the pictures with the rings on the starfish are going to look great :).

What is sixpence? Does this have one of those super obvious answers and I'll feel dumb? haha

@@kcole123 - Thank you! :) I am just so excited about it all! And, YAY! I heard back from the WC today!

@@TinkerSofi - Thank you, also! No, nothing to feel dumb about! A sixpence is one of those bridal traditions, ya know: something old, something new, something borrow, something blue, and a sixpence for your shoe. I think the sixpence is often left out of bridal traditions, but I'm all for vintage stuff... hence the all lace gown  ;)

Yeah my WC at my resort is slow too probably about a week before she gets back with email. I haven't done mine yet...lol I will this weekend though. That's my plans this weekend is to sit down and fill it out and send. I am kind of dreading it though that's why I have left it this long. I am dreading it just in case I have a tonne of questions and may have to email them.

BTW I am having a very productive day at work catching up on all the news feeds. haha

This sounds like my day today. I literally played around with stuff all afternoon!!! I lost almost the whole month of January and half of February doing 11 and 12 hour days for year end reporting and I think it's catching up to me now!! lol

Oh my goodness that's an old Scottish tradition! I have two of the original sixpence coins back before they went to sterling. lol They're probably worth about 1/10th of a cent now!! lol

@@kcole123, "BTW I am having a very productive day at work catching up on all the news feeds. haha" - This is what I do on my days off! (I work three 12 hour shifts a week...so I think that makes me a huge slug! lol)

I thought that I had my planner form pretty close to exactly what I wanted, but then we had to make a few changes because of additional guests and budgeting and music and flowers and so on and so forth... BUT, I promised Jake I'd enjoy this last month.... soooooo, I need to just stay focused and positive. I have read that almost every bride says things do fall into place and their wedding turned out perfectly..so I just need to trust it

It does and it will. I promise.

And the best part? There is wire at the top to help keep its shape, but the bag squishes flat = easy to pack

Wow... I definitely missed out on the creativity gene...

Would you post the fans with the ribbon when they're done? I'm not doing fans but I would love to see how yours turn out.

@@acw271011 - Thank you!

I think that is super awesome that you have some sixpences...honestly, I got mine off ebay for $1.00. I just thought it would be really cool to start the tradition in my family...and I'm super cheesy, in case yall haven't noticed!

The silver clam shell box is from etsy $9.50 + tax = $12.00

The cups are from discountmugs.com style TMC26
I found a coupon on retailmenot.com so that made it even more of a bargain.

I certainly will post a photo! I wanted to add a flower or something to them...buuuuut, I decided against it. It isn't necessary, it would be more challenging to pack, and I am kind of hoping people will at least reuse them while on the beach or on excursions. The ribbon should be easy to remove if people want.

I also have pretty barefoot sandals to share...put am in dire need of a pedi first! lol esp after that 4 mile run through the snow tonight.

I'm kind of bummed that my resort is charging me a day pass AND a vendor fee. They said it is because they don't use wristbands and can't keep track of who is doing what... Really? Um, let me help you out - they will be in my room doing their job... Ugh, whatever. I guess I'll suck it up. Although, I am happy with my decision to hire outside vendors for photos and hair & make-up... esp after hearing back from recent brides about their experience. PLUS, I NEVER pamper myself...so why not do it on my wedding day? I want to blow my man away

Thank you! The tumblers I was looking at were discountmugs too but I have to order a minimum of 12. I think that might be ok because Doug and use them anyway so spares could always go in the trailer.

The little clamshell is just so pretty!!

And yes - if there was ever a day to pamper yourself it's your wedding day! I say go for it and do the whole thing!! Have fun with it!!

ohhh, see you learn something new every day. I never knew the whole something new something borrowed saying until about 12 years ago when I moved here :). I think it's definitely a cultural thing, but I'm all for old traditions making a comeback. I love vintage as well :D

So how do you put it in your shoe? doesn't it bug you? hahah

@@pddcmc wow I didnt even think to try to bring out own speaker! that could definitely save us money because all we are doing is hooking our music up to their speaker anyway. have you used it before for any events or is this your first time?

@@pddcmc Do you have bridesmaids, I cant remember. If so, are you sending them an email with things to know about hair, makeup, schedule, rehearsal etc ? I sent one out last summer but want to send a consolidated email to them all soon and wanted to see if you did!

The goalie on Jake's soccer team brings it to games... and he doesn't even turn it up all the way. It's crazy loud... I think it should be lough enough for our reception, or I'm hoping so.

Nope, we decided to just have a MOH and Best Man for the simplicity of it - any coordination down to not having to pick which friends are in the bridal party. I did send an email MOH asking if she'd like to get made-up by TBM with me.

Maira (WC) was kind enough to reschedule our rehearsal later in the evening so that both moms, MOH, and Best Man could all attend.

We decided against a rehearsal dinner.. we are just going to meet people for dinner/drinks, if they want.

We nixed quite a bit of the traditional formalities simply because we are having a destination wedding, ya know?

Once we are at the resort, I'll use the crystal clear glue that she had sent me to attach the champagne bottle on top of the driftwood

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
