In then end I am paying $300 My bouquet is roses, orchids and chrysanthemums. The 3 bridesmaid bouquets are the same without the orchids. The boutainnere is an orchid. So it's no cheap but it's the best price for the flowers I'll get and I just don't have to stress about it.

@LisaAnthonyPoppy

Great advice.  I was just asking that today on a different forum.

My dad lives in Mexico so he's going to be driving down to the resort and we were thinking that the day before the wedding we would go to playa to pick up some flowers and put together the bouquets and boutonnieres.  My only worry was that they wouldn't allow this.  Should I ask my WC if they would allow it or just go for it?

Hey thanks!

GO FOR IT!!

I wouldn't ask permission, I might just tell them you intend to assemble your own flowers for a personal touch. Just casually mention your making your own " whatever you want". As long as a florist isn't coming into the resort and you don't have company names on your arrangement packaging you will be in the clear!

You can get away with vendor fees if the vendor is a guest so ppl pay for their photographers to stay overnight etc. Your a guest SO you can be your own florist!

Once you inform your WC of you plans she at that point shouldn't say anything negative.

Good luck!!

I think getting them onto the resort wouldn't be that much of a hassle - if you leave to pick them up or if you go to the gates to get them, I don't think the 'powers that be' would know the wiser BUT once your WC sees them and knows they are real she may question you.  That would be my only fear for you - do you know if it's an absolute no no? Is there anything in your contract that talks about this?  I always err on the side of caution because anytime I tend to bend/stretch the rules I get caught (LOL!!) but that is only me.  I would probably try it if it would save me that much money - thankfully my resort didn't over charge for this stuff.

Good luck.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
