I plan on getting mine at DAC its a local produce market. And then across the street from DAC there is a local florist that you can buy long stem cut flowers from called Floeria IRIS or something. I tried to attach a link from everythingplayadelcarmen.com but it didn't work.

I had done some research early in my planning and found out about DAC. Anytime you can support the locals vs big corps hand down Im on board!

We are not doing an altar either. We are placing flowers in a circle in which we will stand in for the service.

I might check out Walmarts selection for some things, but really look forward to being surprised the morning of to see what the freshest flowers are at the market and buying from them anyway.

Im planning on doing my own candelabra centerpieces with the flowers in the center in a piece of round floral foam attached to the center candle stick. Some maybe flowers around the base of the candelabra in a wreath piece of floral foam.

I want to have some local fresh monster leaves under my plate chargers or some other palm green ( hoping for monster leaves)

I actually look forward to buying and arranging beautiful vibrant flowers the morning of my wedding, Having my husband and kids take part of it if they want. Drinking coffee just kickin it.

We rented a pretty big condo btw so we have taken all things into consideration for prepping the flowers, big kitchen table, large fridge, sink, etc.

If staying at a hotel I wouldn't do it myself, and if staying somewhere that I had to drive to pick up the flowers and take back and feel pressured I wouldn't do it.

Good luck ladies!!

I decided yesterday I'm going to do my own flowers! It's not even the cost - it's that the flowers in season aren't my favourite and I just feel like for the $300+ I'd spend ordering bouquets, I can probably find what I want and do it myself. I'll be there one week before so an going on the hunt when I get there, will bring all the supplies I need. Hope this works!

Nadia, when are you getting married? We are in November.

@@chelseapaige37 we are getting married in March so let me know what you end up finding! I can't decide what to do! I feel like ordering real touch flowers may be less stressful and I can keep them- but at the same time I love real flowers. Part depends on if my resort would charge a huge fee if I found my own flowers....awaiting an email from the WC now.

I'm getting married north of PV and have found a florist that I really like in the town we're going to. But just from wandering around PV in the past there are a lot of florists and grocery stores that you can get beautiful flowers at. OR there are also people selling them in the intersections so you just need to get in a taxi and take a cruise around!!

When I was in seattle in may, the market had beautiful bouquets with nice flowers (peonies etc.) and there were all under $15. Obviously every place is different , but since I'm only selective about color, I can't imagine not finding someone - and maybe someone at a market or flower shop will just help assemble them?! Maybe I'm dreaming :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
