Who Will Marry You?

Recommended Posts

Traditions have changed a lot when it comes to who marries you. Neither of us want a religious ceremony, and we both like the thought of someone dear to us marrying us. I was just wondering who will be performing your wedding ceremony?

We were married in Jamaica and it was a minister that performed our ceremony. We just took out some of the very religious content, but overall, kept it fairly traditional.

We are planning just a symbolic ceremony, so I guess the WC usually officiates them???

what resort are you marrying at?

We are having a symbolic ceremony but it's not performed by our WC! They have officiants that do it!

We're going to have my uncle officiate. I lived with my Aunt and Uncle while I was in College and they have kind of been my mentors. I'm not inviting extended family, but they are so important to me that I have asked him to officiate.

The resort provides someone for us - also doing symbolic - but unsure who it is. I am pretty darn sure it is not the WC though!

In Canada we will just pay a justice of the peace.  My friend just did this, so we just plan to use hers if she is available.

I could be wrong. I feel like I read it somewhere when reading up on wedding packages. We havent locked down a location (TA is on holiday until Aug 5th).

I like that. I think I would like for my oldest brother to marry us. He is actually doing it for one of his friends at the end of August... so we will see how he likes his experience.

We're thinking of asking my fiancés brother, and maybe have my siblings do readings or something. Think it'd be nice to have someone meaningful do it for us (symbolic too).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
