Need Favors Ideas, Welcome Bags And What Is Oot Bag? Please

Recommended Posts

@@calgarybride2015 I would love to do a "welcome event" but we have people coming Saturday - Wednesday, so we might just try to meet each group that comes in and give them their bags.  Then maybe Wednesday do the bach parties, Thursday a short little rehearsal / group dinner, Friday is wedding day.

I saw some funny sayings (which would be perfect for the group going)

I love a good TSA patdown.

Those tiny bottles of liquor don't count.

Hands off this is not your bag!

These clothes won't fit you.

I can't decide if I want to go the funny route, or do something related to the wedding.

Would it be horrible if I just included them in the welcome bag, and didn't send them out early?  They could use them on the way home at least.

I had planned to use mine as place cards/favors but changed my mind. That's the only reason I am sending mine before as less to carry. You can totally put them in your welcome bag!  I can't decide between funny sayings or something tropical. I am personally not using our wedding info as I would like them to use them again.

Your ideas for a timeline during the week, in your other post, is great!  We are all arriving the same day so works good for us.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm so lost as to what else to put in our bags.

We have 50 bags total and so far we have:

- sunglasses (for each person)

- personalized hand sanitizer

- Sudoku puzzle book

- Playing cards

- Starfish candles as favours

- bag of candy

- pack of gum

- Fan

I still think we need something more substantial or a bigger item, I was thinking beach wraps for women but don't know what for men. Also it's so hard to find a good price for beach wraps considering I would need 45 of them.

Any ideas what could make my bag better?

A lot of people are doing tumblers or mugs (we are, too).  Discount Mugs has very reasonable prices for double wall inuslated tumblers and mugs, or you can go the Dollar Store route $1 a piece.  I am getting the Discount Mugs (more reasonable than a bubba keg, but they are at least double walled vs. the dollar store).

I would go the mug or cup route.

Discount Mugs has great prices and a lot of options, I just couldn't justify the shipping cost (over $100) to Canada.  There is a lady on here that didn't have to pay the shipping, but not sure I would want to risk that.

To save money you could do them non personalized and get waterproof stickers made. There is a great lady on Etsy and if you decided quick could get them back in time. I think mine took about 3 weeks. Or make some yourself?  (really they don't even need to be personalized if you didn't want).

I just got the tumblers from Dollarama for $2 a piece but really wanted the bubba mugs!   Another Canadian bride said the $6 bubbas (from their website) turned out costing $11-13 each with all the taxes, duty, shipping, etc.

My only concern with beach wraps is if they don't fit some of the ladies??   I would go more generic, but that is just me.  Otherwise, awesome job! good luck!

If you are in the USA  Discount Mugs has great prices. I couldn't justify the shipping cost (over $100) to Canada.  EDIT: you are in Canada!  See what discount mugs charges you to Montreal.  I know a lady on here who didn't have to pay the shipping, but I didn't want to risk it!!!

Thanks!! I will definitely look into it. Will go to dollarama after work :)

I went to dollarama and I was successful in finding good $2 tumblers, they look good too.

But now I am considering how to carry 50 of them. It will require a lot of help with family members I guess?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
