Need Favors Ideas, Welcome Bags And What Is Oot Bag? Please

  • 2 weeks later...

I went all over the place with favors, I could not decide.

We finally ended up choosing maracas.  Each person will get one at the reception and it will have this say (or a variation of it - can't remember it word for word right now) 'Instead of tapping on your glass, here is a system with Mexican class. Stand up and shake with all your might to see the groom kiss his bride tonight'   Makes it fun too!!

I am also sending luggage tags out pre travel.

I love the OOT bag idea but it is not in our budget.

For my bridesmaids I did a few things...

1. make up bag in my wedding color

2. an anklet with an infinity charm and some beads in my wedding color

3. bangels

4. flip flops with removable flower

5. picture frame with a picture of us together in it

6. kleenex, nail file, chapstick, etc.

7. I also helped pay for some of their dresses

Most of the above they will wear at the wedding :)

I spent alot of time looking at wedding favor websites, pinterest, and Etsy.

I love the idea of the maracas for kissing!  I am going to steal this!  Where did you get your maracas from?

What are oot?

That is a great idea for the bags, I am going to start searching!

@@MissJen3. Totally agree about the sunscreen!!! And I posted to bring lots on our wedding website and will again with my pre travel letter :) there is a website I found with all those sample packs and travel sizes decently priced.

I never thought of a pre travel letter, I love this idea!  I am definitely doing it.  What all are you planning to include?

Wow I've sure changed a lot since that original post!! Gifts are different. Am doing OOT cups with hangover kit in it.

Maracas are from Amols! Cheap! Shipping to Canada is reasonable. I don't recommend the yellow ones as they need more paint but still nice.

Letter! Weekly activities, wedding time line, important things to remember/pack, info about Mexico (transfers time shares etc) extra costa at resort (wifi etc) ummmmm drawing a blank. I made a list! Lots of the same stuff from our wedding website.

FOr my luggage tags I used the graphic from our invitation to tie it together. Now I can't decide if I want to use the plastic loop or ribbon to attach. They look so pretty with the ribbon.

Are you using the luggage tags  as actual luggage tags, or as just a label for the bags?

If you are using them as actual luggage tags, do you have some sort of a plastic casing? I'm just wondering where you got them, I've been searching for deals

@@calgarybride2015 Do you have a lot of weekly activities scheduled? I haven't started digging into that yet, but I would love to have options for our guests to do things as a group

@@MorganRene I am using them as actual luggage tags for the guests to place on their checked or carry on luggage. I did a trial run this past weekend as we picked up our marriage license in Vegas. The checked bags took the nonstop journey really hard, but were still in place upon arrival. Of course the carry on ones were lovely upon arrival.  I purchased the luggage tag holders and plastic loops from an ebay vendor but saw them on Amazon as well.  Some brides also used an upgraded version of the holder which I found here  http://www.idsuperstore.ca/luggage-accessories-luggage-badge-holders-c-2091_52_66.html. But you can google "wholesale plastic luggage tag holders" and hopefully get some good hits. Good luck! Your gusts will love them!

@@VegasBride121314 I might have to go that plastic route... I was going to do this:

and sew them all...but 45 would take me some time, and I only have 2 months to go.

Thanks for the link!

No!  We plan to have welcome drinks to introduce everything and hand out our tumblers/OOT items.

Then we need to have some sort of rehearsal meeting for the wedding party at some point.

Also the bach parties - but that is still up in the air.

I bought my luggage tags on Amazon. They were advantus badge holders. I got the plastic loops at my dollar store but you can also get them on amazon.

I saw some funny sayings (which would be perfect for the group going)

I love a good TSA patdown.

Those tiny bottles of liquor don't count.

Hands off this is not your bag!

These clothes won't fit you.

I can't decide if I want to go the funny route, or do something related to the wedding.

Would it be horrible if I just included them in the welcome bag, and didn't send them out early?  They could use them on the way home at least.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
