Brides 2015 (All And Sensatori)-Lets Help Each Other!

Recommended Posts

Okay ALL this planning is just a lot, here I will provide to you what I have so far and please feel welcome to offer help...

Resort: Azul Sensatori (Dreams Tulum was #2 and NOW Shaphire was #3)

Location at Sensatori: ceremony on the beach by the pier gazebo and cocktail and reception at Plaza Zavas

Scouting trip: yes, visited Mexico in May 2014 and planned 12 locations

TA: Yes, Destination Weddings...you must pick a good TA, ALWAYS use a TA and don't stress yourself by doing it alone, it has many advantages doing it with a TA

Save the dates: boarding pass magnet (small) with our pic www. magnetstreet.com (sent already)

Stamps: Zazzle personalized them

Invitations: passport invitation with RSVP in our wedding website, still pricing some options for the passport, planning to send it late Oct 2014

wedding website: ewedding

Engagement pictures: Yes in Princeton NJ, use them for save the date, wedding website and passport invitation

Photographer: Sarani Estrada, yes we agreed to pay the outrageous fee, her work is just amazing and usually it ends up to cost almost the same

Trash the Dress: we might, all depends on the cash available (it can wait for now)

DJ: We have hired Doremixx because we did not feel like the DJ from the resort was too great and no many reviews were found, except what the WC said, brides have made positive comments on the DJ all music, still we did not feel it. We prefer to spend our money in photos and reception

Ceremony: ours is symbolic, planning to get marry Catholic at home, we got a package with the block of 10 rooms-memorable moments package- Vintage Elegance and will do the sand kit

Reception decor: tables will be all white linen with organza white bows that are included (color bows at $4 each)  and perhaps will add something that brings our theme color (coral). We are going to decorate with lanterns (the Chinese paper lanterns), each table will have a floral arrangement no to exceed $90-$100 per table, will pay for the set up of favors and anything else that comes in mind to decorate the tables, decor is a biggie and many brides get caught into this one...We also want the best but we have to watch because all adds up

Bridesmaids: will pay for a corsage, not a bouquet (too expensive and I have many bridesmaids lol)

SPA services: Yes planning to use them before the wedding day. 15% discount

Reception dinner: pick and choose plated from the menu, food and beverage will have 20% discount

Spoon semi private for 40 ppl: yes, will use it, also check on ALL your perks, we got good ones.

Rehearsal dinner/welcome party: we are going to have dinner with the wedding party, followed by the welcome party. We are  not doing something big (welcome party) since we just want everyone to celebrate and  go to one party (our wedding). We are  Planning to do the standing cocktail bites at $10 per person ($2 each and min 5 per guest required) and a bomb fire at $50 per hour. I might rent equipment for the ipod.

Tours: Planning to go to Chichen Itza, still planning that one all the way. Also if we increased the room count we will get the catamaran for free with credit for food and beverage.

Welcome bags: yes will give them on our welcome party planning to get from Zazzle, wedding chicks, and all the sites that brides help here with.

Favors: everyone is doing maracas...not sure what to do but surely something that represents him and myself since we are from different countries.

Stationary: still thinking about place cards, wedding planners -had fans (will avoid them if they are not needed)

Honey Moon: Yes, planning to jump to Belize since it is so closed from that area

All that is optional and added cost for the wedding will be through Lomas, except DJ and Photographer. Honestly It ended to almost the same, I bet Karisma charges their approved vendors the same $800 just that they dont disclose it.

All our final cost will really depend on how many end up attending and booking...the more guests the more will end up adding.

Please help-support-suggest and ask :) Lets have a fun and happy planning

Linaco

This port has help me a little! I'm planning on getting married July 2015. I will be booking this week, most likely the Valentin Imperial Maya. Have been making myself crazy just researching places so I'll be happy once a spot is actually booked.

Your post gave me a little guidance as to what else needs to be done so thanks :)

@@Lia33 congrats to you and your upcoming wedding , I am also new and learning all. If I actually write step by step all of my process I would never end, it takes tons of time to research and do stuff...I looked at 12 resorts and went actually to Mexico to meet with each wedding coordinator (crazy me and my poor FI) but i have to tell you that I learned enough to start (first steps). Valentin was in my list, but i had to take off the list when I learn it was adults only.

I visited:

Dorado Royal, Generations Riviera Maya, Azul Beach, Dreams Puerto Aventuras, Dreams Tulum (one of my best and tops that sometimes kind of regret), Now Shaphire (another fav), Azul Sensatori (booked this one), Casitas Royal, Playacar by Palace Resorts, Grand Porto, Moon Palace, Real grand porto (or something like that in Playa del Carmen)

wish you the best and we can keep helping each other :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
