Haven't seen any recent threads here for next year other than the one for 2014-2016 so I figured I'd start one for October 2015 since I know there's a quite a few of us on here.

Just a place for questions, concerns, advise, etc!

Hi! I am about to set my date, and I would really like to plan for October 2015.. my only concern is weather. I will be having the wedding in Jamaica, and apparently October is the month when Jamaica gets its most rain. I read a bunch of weather reports and they all say that in Jamaica it rains randomly for short periods of time in ANY month, so there is really no way to predict it and there is no point in worrying... I don't want to be paranoid about it, but it would SUCK to have a gorgeous beach wedding be ruined by rain. October would just work wonderfully for me personally, and it's a huge plus that the price is more affordable (due to it being the rainy season).

Has anyone been to Jamaica in October, or Is anyone else doing Jamaica in Oct. 2015? Any thoughts on the weather? Maybe a morning wedding would be less likely to get rained out than an afternoon wedding? I appreciate any tips or advice! Thanks!

Amy

@@amyknight11 Well I've never been to Jamaica but my fiancée is from Jamaica and he says it only rains for a short period of time during the fall months. And I've seen a ton of brides get married in October in the Caribbean so I'm guessing they all didn't have rainy weddings :)

@@amyknight11.....I am getting married October 10, 2015 in Jamaica.....I visited Jamaica in October last year and we had great weather.   I think it just depends.   helenk is correct that it only rains for a short while when it does (I was in Jamaica in June 2014 also and it rained while I was there).

I wouldn't let the weather be the decision maker as to whether or not to have your wedding in October.  It could rain in October if you had your wedding at home.  The resorts have backup locations in case of rain.

Good luck!!!  and happy planning!!!

We were married in Jamaica in October and the weather was fabulous. One short shower on our wedding day for about 15 or 20 minutes and then if was done. due to specific circumstances we're renewing our vows in Playa del Carmen Mexico this October 20th which is our anniversary.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
