I know!! When i got engaged I wanted to get married earlier, but thought nah ill give it 1 year just so we can have some time to save. Well my wedding is 5 months away and I havent saved anything! hah

Hi everyone....I am getting married October 10th.......I can't believe it is finally almost here.  It has been a journey.  I keep saying I am going to do a planning thread but I just haven't had the time.  So here is a little something.......

 

How we met:

Today is actually the anniversary of when my fiancé and I met 4 years ago.  I actually had broken up with my ex about 6 weeks before this and I wasn't looking for another relationship.  I was ready to be single and mingle.....however, I went out with one of my best friends and my fiancé (Ty) happened to be there.  (My girlfriend and Ty actually have mutual friends).  We have been together ever since.  :)

 

Engagement:

We were engaged July 28th, 2013 in Cancun Mexico.....we were there for a friends wedding.  He proposed in front of everyone during brunch.  I was surprised because he gave a speech about how much he loved me in front of everyone.  (He is not a big talker so that made it really sweet that he came out of his comfort zone). 

 

Date: 

We didn't set a date right away.  We actually waited a year and then set the date in June of last year.  We originally booked at the Royalton White Sands.....I was really excited as I had done a site visit there.  However, earlier this year, I found out that they did not honor my requests for reception locations etc so I decided to move the wedding.  We are now getting married at the Jewel Paradise Cove Resort and Spa.  It is an adult only resort. 

 

The dress: 

Well, I am very indecisive.....I have bought and returned 5 dresses to David's bridal.  And I still wasn't happy.....I ended up going to a Bridal boutique not far from my home and they had a discontinued Allure Couture gown that absolutely loved and it zipped right up as if it were made for me.  I would post pictures however, my computer is not allowing me to modify the pics.  But I will post them with my iphone after I finish this. I now have to sell my David's bridal dress.  What a headache!

 

I have made bouquets for myself and my MOH. 

 

I have decided not to do the OOT bags (I don't want to take all of that stuff with me), so I am doing "Fly Away" gift boxes that I will send to each guest/couple with the wedding brochure and the their itinerary.

 

Basically, everything is complete.  I am just counting down the days!!!! :D

Your dresses are beautiful! Especially live the Allure dress. I couldn't find any local UK suppliers but fell in love with this one:

@@FutureMrsGlover All of those dresses are gorgeous and the second one (top row on the right) is beautiful on you!! but @@calgarybride2015 is absolutely right - it's all about what you feel the best in! And what you chose is gorgeous!!!

 

And yes - for all the October ladies the time is ticking away! We absolutely loved Jamaica and would live to go back. It just has never worked out the way we wanted it to but one of these days.....

I love both of your choices..... The dress you picked is gorgeous!!! There are so many beautiful dresses it's so hard to choose!

 

I can't believe we only have a few more weeks till our weddings! I'm putting the final touches on my favors and bouquet. The OOT bags have me stumped cause I don't want to take everything with me but I don't know if giving/ sending them to guests before hand is poor etiquette? I have to make a decision soon!!!

I don't think there would be anything wrong with sending them ahead of time. In fact I think your guests would be thrilled to receive them whether before or after you arrive in Jamaica! Do what works best for you!!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
