Cake Topper

I ordered my cake topper on Etsy from a great seller.  We really wanted to incorporate our dog Linus and she did a great job on all the details.  Love our topper!!

Here are some of the pics she just sent me.  https://www.etsy.com...ction/217692400

@@NJbride I loved reading all you've done, it's really such beautiful hard work! And I'm planning to steal shamelessly lol. PM when you're ready to sell stuff, we have almost the exact same style. :)

Thanks, it really has been a labor of love doing most things DIY and steal away.  I can't believe we are less than 3 weeks away until we leave for Mexico!  I'll definitely post after the wedding anything I want to sell, there will be a lot of things I'm sure.   :D

What's that saying? Keep calm and... Lol. Enjoy these days (easy for me to say now- November will be a different story) and remember how jealous at least this one bride to be is that you'll be on a beach celebrating in 3 weeks!

You have a truly amazing planning thread!! I'm sure all of your guests will love all the little touches you've put together! I am also doing maracas for guests and would love it if you could post or email the tags you used (mmckiever11atgmaildotcom).

The cardboard cut out of your dog is hilarious. It's difficult to incorporate pets at a destination wedding but kudos to you because I think you nailed it :)

Another DIY Project

Flower Bouquets and Boutonnieres for Home Ceremony

I'm getting married tomorrow at my home church then having a small dinner with my family and knew I wanted flowers so it felt like a wedding.  But I didn't want to order them from a local florist because the numbers I was getting for just the small amount of flowers I wanted was getting to be too much and it was money I didn't want to spend so close to leaving for Cancun..  Instead of ordering the flowers from a local florist I decided I would do them myself.  I went to my local farmers market on sunday and bought several bouquets of different flowers and then made my own bouquets and boutonnieres, it was super easy and so cheap.  Here is the final outcome and I only spent $15 for all the flowers minus the floral tape, ribbon and pins but that was probably under $10.  Not bad for a DIY project lol.  So for any girls who plan to buy their flowers from a florist or costco in Mexico you can definitely do it in Cancun just practice once before and get help it will take some time.

Boutonnieres for the men and my nephews.

I also had enough flowers to make mini bouquets for the moms but forgot to take pics.  Now they are all housed in my fridge lol hopefully they still look fresh tomorrow!!

We just took photos of him with a good camera and my brother in law who is a graphic artist blew it up and printed it out and glued it onto a foam board.  He does these cut outs all the time for my nephews birthdays of cartoon characters so one of my dog was simple.  Its very easy to do on your own but there are also some websites that will do it for you and make it a cardboard cut out. I forget the site I was going to use but just google it cardboard cut out and I think you can upload your own photo.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
