Hi again everyone!

Would you believe I'm STILL deciding between semi-private or private dinner, and DJ or no DJ?

To everyone who has had or is having the private dinner, what all was included? I think the price is $1000 to rent the restaurant, right? Does that include open bar? Decorations? Etc? Also, is there an option to pay less money to have the restaurant for a shorter period of time? We are hoping to do dinner for 2 hours and the beach bash for 3.

Thanks!

Carolina did get back to me, perhaps if you still havent heard from her and second email may be warranted.

I decided to go with the DJ...I did get the app but I was having trouble making a great playlist and I didn't want the worry of making sure that it went ok. My Bridesmaid is doing my hair and I am doing my own make up...I had a make up trial done here asking for little or natural make up but I still felt coated with make up so I'm just going to do it myself to be safe. I'm having a private dinner, included in the private dinner is the meal (everyone gets the same thing), decorated head table for up to14 guests, the tables and chairs that are currently in the restaurant. Everything else is extra...decor, table cloths, centerpeices etc, you can also upgrade the food to allow for a buffet or a BBQ for a price.

My welcome aren't complete yet but I have:

cards

hand sanitizer

pepto

advil

travel Tide

a map

welcome letter

schedule

I spy game

do not disturb sign

hoping to add:

postcards

Sunglasses

meet the guests flyer

@@Meandhim Thanks! Yea I think we are leaning more and more towards me using the app. I'm going to try to test it out this wkd - almost have all my music now. Hair and makeup I will probably end up letting the spa do it. We have similar items in our bags. I'm doing personalized tumblers and first aid kits in ours as well. Where did you find cheap travel advil and pepto?

Hi all, for those doing their hair and/or makeup at the spa, where did you find info on the group discounts for your whole bridal party?

@@Beachgirl622 Great thanks!

Questions:

1. for the private dinner, are speakers and wireless microphone included?

2. are there no bars in the restaurants?? i can't, for the life of me, understand why we must pay a per person cost for cocktails, liquor, etc. at our rehearsal dinner and wedding dinner when we are at an all-inclusive resort! Anyone?

@@Jc14 Carolina got back to me about the spa. There is a special pricing for brides and bridesmaids which is for hair and makeup. You have to set the appointments through the wedding department in order to get the special price.

I know the Italian, steakhouse, hibachi and brizailIan restaurants have bars by their entrances. I am having a private reception so I can understand the extra cost for me, but I agree it is silly.

How have people been figures out extras, costs, ect? Carolina sent me blank form for descriptions and pictures of whay i want but I don't know how much I am supposed to be doing now. I asked her for a list of costs for things, so hopefully I get that soon.

@@Beachgirl622 Thanks! Do you happen to have the special pricing? I think we are going to go with the private reception too. Why do you think it should be extra if the restaurants have bars by their entrances?

Does anyone have photos of the hair and makeup done by the spa?

@@Jc14 sorry I forgot to put the pricing. It's 135.00 for hair and makeup. I would love to see some pictures too if anyone has them. I am really trying to avoid getting hair and makeup trials done but I am a bit nervous.

And as for the private reception, I can understand the cost for the open bar since we are having it at the location they have the lunch buffet and they do not have a bar there.

I guess the cost is to cover having a bartender and staff, ect.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
