@@Meandhim @@Jc14 hello, we used Jimmy with Dominican favors for our 70 personalized bottle of Brugal rum! We had no problems with communication through out the entire process. I emailed him a week before we left to confirm date, time, and location of delivery- he confirmed date, time, and met us in the lobby of the resort. All of our guests loved the favors our coordinator was even blown away. Good luck and happy planning!

Hi brides!

I haven't been on in a couple weeks, but I'm now 6 months out from our wedding and not sure what else there is to do? We are still waiting on all of our guests to put down their deposit. I've booked the pastor, DJ, and photographer. My invitations have come in - I just need to address them and send them out in July, I think. I said YES to my dress last weekend! I haven't heard from Carolina in a while, and now I see she is away for a couple weeks.

Is anyone doing the cocktail menu for after their ceremony? If so, which menu are you going with?

Is there anything else I should be thinking about, ordering, confirming, booking, etc. at this point??

For brides that have already just gotten married. Was the dinner reservations filled by the time you got there? Would you suggest booking ahead of time (before landing) to make reservations in the various different restuarants offered on the property

Thanks

Hi @@njn33rocks,

The way most of the à la carte restaurants worked was that people could make reservations every night as of 5. People usually started lining up at the good places at 4:30, even to make reservations for later. You can show up later, but there isn't a guarantee they'll have room at your ideal time.

@njn33rocks

I pretty sure @@Kerrierf is right unless you are staying in the Royal section then you can make reservations through your butler. But I don't think you can make reservations before you land.

Hi brides!

I'm not sure if anyone is on this thread anymore, but I thought I would post my questions just in case:

- Is anyone doing the cocktail menu for after their ceremony? If so, which menu are you going with?

- Did anyone have a signature cocktail? How did you get the bartenders to make it for you so guests could request it?

- For those doing welcome bags for their guests, did you have the resort staff leave them in the rooms or were they left at reception and handed out at checkin? We are arriving on the same day/flight as most of our guests, then assembling the bags once we get there, so handing them out at checkin won't really work. I asked Carolina about having them put into each guest's room and she said they can do that and there is a $2US charge per bag. This seems a bit much for me considering how much we are already paying for the wedding. Did anyone else experience this? What did you do with your welcome bags?

Thanks!

Hi @@Jc14! So good to see some action here again!!!

- We didn't do a cocktail menu, but if you chose not to do something they arrange for a section of the lobby bar to be used as a cocktail hour for your guests with drinks.

- We sent out welcome kits before we left, partly to avoid figuring out those logistics, and partly so that we weren't carrying too much weight in our suitcases.  How about doing your bags at your first dinner? The resort is so large that it was easiest for all of us to meet at the buffet the first nigh, so that could be an easy option?

Thanks @@Kerrierf! Did you have to ASK them to section off the lobby bar for you? Or did they do it on their own? Because that's definitely what we want. Did you do a signature cocktail?

That's a good idea! Definitely a great option :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
