Grooms Gift?

Recommended Posts

My FI lost his mother in November and he misses her terribly and wishes more than anything that she could be there when we get married. I also want to incorporate her in his gift but I'm not sure how. I was thinking maybe get him cuff links for the wedding with his mothers initials or something along those lines.

That is a nice idea!!!

If you can incorporate something, but don't mind if it is physically on him, you could do the bouquet picture frame charms. I got one and put my mother's photo in it - I lost her 10 years ago.    I have considered also putting a picture of her on the signing table - which is something else you ladies could consider.  I'll post a picture in a second of my charm.

I was originally thinking cuff links but he has stated that he would like to wear a short sleeved dress shirt so cuff links wont work. I am now thinking a belt buckle. He wears one every day and sort of collects them? Not sure completely yet.

I came up with another 'gag' gift and I think I am going to go thru with it.

I was telling another member about my idea... my nerdy fiance always (I mean always) calls himself a ninja.

So I found a KCCO type shirt...

Keep calm cos I'm a ninja.

He loves dorky shirts, so this will be right up his alley.

Question going in another direction -- I thought you gave the gifts on your wedding day, but fiance thinks we should do them together the day after. HMMM I kind of gave my strong opinion I'd like to do it the day of and he was concerned how gifts would be exchanged so I told him his mom could do it, lol,  thoughts????

First of all I love KEEP CALM shirts this was one of my FI xmas gifts last year. They can be funny and personal. Second, my strong opinion would make me suggest exchanging gifts that same day through the mother or a groomsmen. Or... and I think this is what I want us to do... exchange gifts the day before, like the last thing we would do before we are apart and see each other at the alter.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
