Ocean Maya Royale: Lack Of Response From Hotel.. Normal?

Recommended Posts

Hello :)

We have booked our symbolic ceremony for the Ocean Maya Royale in early September of this year. I feel like getting ahold of ANYONE there is so difficult. And I can totally over think things, but I had some questions for the coordinator and after two emails (both within the past month) I have yet to hear anything. We have paid the deposit and booked the date. Should I be concerned?

If you're not getting answers I would call. It's better to be safe than sorry. I'm not getting married there but when I have questions because I like to be clear I call the hotel and speak to the WC. I just have to make sure we're on the same page.

I know that the hotel WC doesn't start communicating and planning until 45days until the wedding.

What you should do is look up vendor and read your contract thoroughly.

Most WC are very busy with multiple weddings per day. They typically will focus on the weddings at hand and that are coming up. So I wouldn't be too concerned but as @@jennifernoel1 said I would definitely call them and see if you can get an answer from them :)

Seems to be a common issue - I too had a hard time getting in touch with anyone.  Finally, I messaged their FB page and someone got right back to me after that.  I was told they would contact me 3 months out and we could go over everything then, but like you....I tend to overthink things :)

It's the same at other locations too. I was married in Jamaica and the WCs there don't work on your details until about 3 months out. They just have too many other weddings they're focused on that are closer. It's not the ideal situation for sure, but you can still reach out and try to get questions answered. It just might take a little bit of time. It's not that they'll ignore you - they will eventually respond. Forums like this in the meantime can probably help out with general answers/information enough until you're able to get your details worked out with your WC.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
