Help Please! Azul Beach, Sensatori Or Dreams Riviera

Recommended Posts

I just went to the BDR and visited Dreams Riviera.  I can tell you the beach/water at Sensatori is awful!  The seaweed is so bad and they didn't even rake it up for the wedding I saw there!!  I was originally planning on having my wedding there but once I went down to look at it I decided against it.  Azul Beach has a gorgeous beach with pretty water.  It is a smaller resort and the rooms are all updated except the basic room.  The pools were not my favorite but I really liked their reception locations and the beach.  Dreams had a really nice beach but was packed and didn't have the best food.  I did tour Generations Riviera Maya and it had a gorgeous pier you could have your wedding on but was more expensive.

My travel agent suggested Azul Sensatori for us. A top priority is the beach and the color of the ocean since it makes for gorgeous pictures. She sent me a ton of info, pictures and video of the resort I can forward you if you'd like. It was ruled out for us because it was not 100% handicap friendly and my fiances twin is in a wheelchair. I was also told to stay away for Dreams for weddings so didn't look into them. Good luck it's tough decision for sure!

Just curious, what did you hear about Dream weddings and why to stay away?

@@pekchw She's just had not great experiences since there are so many weddings a day with communication and other things. At the time when I asked her about them she was covering for someone in the agency and was doing damage control. The bride could have just been super picky though. All the pictures I have seen look great though!

Want better beaches? Neither of them! Dreams Cancun/Tulum or Playacar Palace are over those, a way better!

Honestly, seaweed can be a issue anywhere just depends on time, the weather, etc. how many people are you expecting? We decided with Sensatori but also went to Dreams Riviera. I liked DR a lot. Clean, good food, nice beach, but it was fairly small and thought my guests would get bored. Their wedding packages were also very expensive. Sensatori has been great. There wedding planners are in Miami, I get timely responses, great reviews, wedding options are endless.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
