Negative Comments About Your Resort

Recommended Posts

Ohh my bad! I thought you were the original poster!! My comments were intended for @@Sara1603 I guess! Sorry about that!

ha ha not a problem! But I like the fact too that your sister had her wedding there and you chose it too. I will be honest, I haven't heard great reviews so it definitely worries me a little. Hearing good stuff from someone else is reassuring.

always ask WHY people don't like a particular resort... ours is bashed for being too small.. we don't mind small!! The last resort we stayed at was disliked for having terrible AC... THAT was a huge deal for us and made our stay uncomfortable. Just because others don't like a resort doesn't mean you also won't like it. It's all about the needs of the guest and their attitude.

I did ask why. She said the staff made her uncomfortable Whistled at her and such, said the beach wasn't great and neither was the food. The food comment worried me. The rest I'm not concerned about.

All I have to say is HOW RUDE of that sales clerk!

If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all!

Especially since you told her it was for your wedding!

I've been to grand sunset and it was fabulous! Best time ever!

Don't regret it!

Best wishes!

Pam

Thanks Pam! It is reassuring to hear from people that have been there. I was surprised that the sales clerk didn't stop after I told her that we were already booked. I guess that tells me something about her and I need to consider the source

I don't take negative comments or reviews to heavily. Everyone has their own preferences on what they like. I know personally traveling out of the states can be different because of the various cultures and practices. I think to ease your mind understand that you can not predict what is going to happen or how ppl will react. I'm sure you chose a beautiful resort and not everything will be perfect.

We have booked our DW wedding at the Grand Sunset Princess for December 2014. It was very hard to book a resort when we have never been to the area. Every travel agent seemed to favor a specific resort. We ended up getting a great rate at the GSP and decided to book here. Today I was shopping for beach bags and the sales girl asked if the bags were for a wedding. When I said yes she asked where we were going. So I told her and she said she had been to the Grand Sunset. I was excited to hear about the resort from someone who had been there. She told me it was awful and she hated it. She said the staff weren't nice and the food was bad. I'm trying not to let her comments get to me....but honestly, they are. I'm nervous about our choice now.

How do you handle negative comments about the resort you have chosen?

Hi Sara! I can't imagine someone hating the resort or saying that the food/staff was awful. We had our wedding there last month with 45 people and everybody LOVED it! The staff was so nice and the food was great. So don't worry at all. I have an entire review with pictures in a forum called "neha's grand sunset princess review" you can check it out and hopefully it'll make you feel better! I want to go back everyday....!

@@Sara1603, some people just have a much higher standard than other people. It's like when I go to a restaurant and I love the food and found that it was packed with flavour, gave it a 4 star...then some other person said the food was bland, terrible, would never eat there again, gave it a 1 star. So, I know where you are coming from but I also think that reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. Maybe the sales clerk took things the wrong way.

Whistling? Isn't that a compliment that you are pretty?

Food was bad? Everyone's palette is different.

Beach was bad? We don't have much sandy beaches in Vancouver so any beach is great!!

I am definately going to check out your review. And then I will have lots if questions for you. So many small things I worry about. Thank you for the reassurance and I am so happy that you loved it there. That makes me feel a whole lot better!

Congratulations on your wedding. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness

You are so right!! We live in the middle of the prairies...any beach is going to be beautiful. And to be honest, any food that someone makes for me tastes wonderful! Thanks for the post

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
