Traveling With Faux Flowers To Playa Del Carmen

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I am pretty set on having faux flowers at my wedding, seeing that they cost cheaper and look just the same.

I wanted to know from anyone with experience, or anyone traveling with faux flowers, how are you intending on packing them without damaging their shape?  Carry on? Packing?

I have a few things that I'm bringing (or more than a few) including small empty bottles and maybe some tin cans.  Are these to be carried on the plane WITH my dress as well?

It's pretty much the only thing I have anxiety about at the moment :) ........I got 11 more months to worry about other things

Thank you!!!

I'm planning on having a carry-on case with everything I NEED so my dress, headpiece and bouquet. I'm thinking of putting my bouquet in a shoebox in my case, however I haven't even started to make it so I have no idea whether that's practical! I've also just changed my mind about my dress and am considering bringing one that will be much harder to pack so it could be fun in a few months!

Hopefully you'll get a few more sensible ideas than mine!

I was thinking about having all my extras shipped down to my FIL's place before hand, OR packing everything in boxes. The airlines will take boxes as long as they are in the weight limit.

I was apart of a bridal party and the bride had us all bring our own faux flower bouquets ourselves. She made them herself and put them in a Rubbermaid thing from the dollar store. I was able to stuff some extra things in the container!

From friends who have gone to destination weddings they said the bride and groom spread out what they needed to bring among their guests haha. One person would take a vase, another one the flowers, etc. That way no one was over the weight limit.

I was thinking of putting those things in a plastic container and taking them with me as carry on.

Hey @@lydiasusi, I am thinking about doing the same with faux flowers considering the cost savings!  Any stores/sites you can share where you are looking?

Oh, and I definitely plan on asking our guests to help with packing some of our items  :)

MICHAEL'S!!!!

I went there a few months back, and they were having an AMAZING sale on them!!! Selected flowers and succulents were at $1.99-$2.99 a piece!!! I recommend them for sure!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
