Where To Take Engagement Pics In Cancun/rm

Recommended Posts

My FI and I are going to Cancun tmr for our site visit! We're meeting our photographer and doing our engagement pics as well while we're there. Any suggestions about where to take pics? I want to do something other than just pure beach because well have a lot of wedding pics like that. I'm thinking small villages, etc.

Our photographer recommended Isla Mujeres - it looks gorgeous in pics. Any feedback?

Also, this might end up happening in the rain (haha) so maybe something that would still look cool.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Are there any ruins that have public access and where we'd be allowed to take pics? I see some ppl do ones near Playacar Palace?

we've heard Isla Mujeres is absolutely beautiful. I'd also consider going into Playa del Carmen to walk the streets and take pics around the market. I saw a TTD session where they did it, and it was so cool with the vivid colors in the background, and street scenes.

which outing would you enjoy more? IM or PDC...? two totally different experiences and looks! though I've heard there's a market on IM too that may be able to bring in some of the local feel, in addition to the beautiful island.

I can't wait to find out what you decide!!! (and then see the pics)

PDC is a good idea too! I love the vivid colours and street shot scenes. Hmm now to decide before tmr!

Follow your photographer's lead. They know the area best! And if you've got a good one, they will be amazing!! Have fun and good luck! Enjoy!

I did my engagement photos in Playa Del Carmen and the area was beautiful.  The beach was great and they had the lush plant/tree areas with ruins near by then you can go to the streets and get good urban shots.  You can see my engagement photos if you go to my page.

We went to Isla Mujeres and I'm so glad we did. The places were gorgeous. We went to this place called Playa Sur (I think) and it was amazing vistas and cliffs. I think the pics are going to be stunning. We also took pics around town in front of the colourful buildings. I'll post an update and review once I get some pics!

Our trip was so short this time. Well have to make it to Playa del Carmen next time were here for our wedding in December!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
