Here is my DIY boarding pass invites - at least, a rough draft.  I'd love some suggestions/feedback!

Our colors are Royal Blue, Teal and Sangria, so I thought I'd make each pass in one of the colors.  I've blacked out our "personal" information, so it's not as nice looking with the big black marks, haha.

What are your thoughts/feedback?  Anything you would suggest I change?

I did - I used the Aylee Bits template for the outline, and put in the words/graphics/etc.  I'm going to get them printed on shimmery champagne colored paper.  I had to find transparent images, as I'm not handy at photoshop to make them.  I'm trying to do one now for the envelope (make an image transparent so I can print on colored paper) and it's a PAIN!

Where are you printing them? I'm debating if I should do my own invitations but my printer at home drains the color ink quick so I'm afraid I would spend a ton on color ink to print all of them. Is there a way to print them at like a fedex/kinko? And the template you just downloaded to your computer and you were able to edit and customize it? I'm new to this whole DIY thing, lol.

My FI is printing them on a color laserjet at work, but you can get them done at a Kinkos or similar type of printing place.  I printed out 2 copies on my home computer so I could practice, and definitely takes a bit of ink!

I saved mine as PDFs after I was done, and just made sure to uncheck "Fit to Page" on my printer options (it distorts the size - was worse when I was trying to print chapstick labels!).

I'm planning on writing an instruction sheet to my FI on what goes on what paper, and what is doublesided.  I would suggest doing the same thing at a Kinkos, and seeing if they'll print out 1 for you first so you can check it.  They probably do things like this a lot :)

I gave the 2 I printed to FI's parents & sister (who are staying with us this week) and they LOVE them.  I'm so happy :)

For the template, I downloaded it in Word to my computer and customized it.  It was kind of a pain, not going to lie!  I'm not sure I followed the instructions...but I figured it out :)  Once I had it how I wanted it, I saved it as a PDF and test printed it in B&W (to make sure it looked good).

My suggestion is to search google for transparent background images, unless you're planning on printing on white background pages.  You can search to see how to removed a background, but that seemed complicated to me lol

@helenk thanks for the info I found a really nice background , based on your infromation. I must say for a not so DIY person, I think my boarding passes turn out really nice. Now I am trying to figure out how to upload the picture.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
