Aww man... sorry about your dog. I had to do the same thing with my cat. I had her for about 22 years. Love the cake topper though.

And thanks for the tip on the men's suits. I bet you my FI is more of a procrastinator than your's is though. He hasn't even asked his guys if they'll be in the wedding!! I sort of hinted to them already so they're coming.  Now I have to tell this fool to hurry up with their suits/attire.

He just figured it out less than 2 weeks ago!!  It took him 11 months to figure out his side - 30 seconds for mine ;)  (Probably because I figured it out a long time ago haha).

These are the suits we got - they should be here mid-month, so I can report back on quality/fit!

We went with the slim fit and the "Bone" color option.  Apparently the tan isn't that dark in person, but I thought the "bone" fit a lot closer to what we had talked about:

We ended up just getting the vest & pants.  On sale for $80 ($39.99 each), with 30% off/free shipping + tax, they came to $60.71 each.  Not bad!

Suit Bone

Got my son this suit in 24m - it doesn't match (bone vs tan), but for $15 all in, I can find another use for it if I find another suit I like better ;).  Like rehearsal dinner/easter/birthdays/weddings next year, etc :)

That's a sweet deal!!!!  I can see him waiting about a month before the wedding to figure out what they're going to wear!!! Ughhhhh!!! I'm going to try not to worry about it. We're so different when it comes to stuff like this.

You will appreciate this as a mom!   My son can barely get into his wedding shorts :(  I had to order them to the states, drive and get them, and he has grown SOOOO much!  I should have known better but man!   He can do them up but complains they are snug. I found a solid black pair (everyone is wearing pin stripe) on Old Navy so I ordered them for back up. It's not the end of the world if his aren't striped as noone will probably notice but DOH!!!!!  His top fits thankfully :)

Loving all of the updates!

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog :(.  It's a lovely momento/keepsake

Your recovery kits look amazing.  I think I was second in line for those bags - just missed them! :P

And I get you on the procrastination of the FI!! If I didn't drag my FI to buy the groomsmen pants months ago in the summer, it would not have happened.  He's so good w/ work stuff but so lazy with wedding stuff - I think our wedding is going to be as much a surprise to him as it is to our guests haha

That little baby suit is so so cute :)

  • 3 weeks later...

I cannot tell you how much I love your thread! You are so organized, and your to do lists are inspiring lol. I have so much to do! You may have swayed me on a boudoir session, although I'm not sure I can work up the nerve. So sorry about your dog, that is the worst :(.

Looking forward to more updates!

Thank you!

The boudoir session was SOOO much fun, and I love the finished product.  It's perfect for my fiancee, as more traditional items like watches I already get him for Christmas lol.  I know he'll appreciate it, and it's not too "risky" so I was comfortable with shooting the pictures.  And I've had 2 kids in the last 3.5 years, so my body isn't as great as I wish it was ;)

Updates coming soon!  I've got a few projects done over the holidays, and today starts my finalizing details on the projects I still have pending, things like the paper items etc.

And losing the 10lbs I've gained over the 4th quarter, with bachelorette party/work/halloween/thanksgiving/my 30th bday/christmas x3...eek.  I'm so glad we didn't go with a January wedding LOL.

69 days to go!!

Update 10.12.14

Got quite a bit done this weekend!  Of course not exactly what I was PLANNING on doing...but that's okay! :)

Toasting Glasses:

Got this in the mail - looks awesome!  They didn't have an option to engrave in black :(  but overall, I like how it turned out!

stock image:

Set in package (didn't unwrap sand/shells):

Engraving!:

Cocktail Hour Straws:

I had bought a bunch of straws for kiddo bday parties, and found that I had 3 that were close to our colors. Since I already had paper leftover from the invites, I just printed out 1 sheet with some sayings from a template (found on Pinterest & later I found more on here!) and cut them out.  One thing I did instead of double sided tape was use "Permanent Glue Sticks", which turned out awesome.

OOT Bags:

Thanks to tygrrlily for talking me back into sense (versus spending more money on MORE bags, haha).  I got some raffia from walmart for $2 for a bag, and it was more than enough to tie 2 dozen bags.  I also put the starfish charms I had gotten off ebay (something like 50 for 1.25) on the tags.  All that is left is to either write or stamp something on the tags.  And fill them, of course.

Cake Serving Set:
So I got the set I ordered in the mail, and I'm not overly happy.  First, it was NOT the same as in the picture - different handle design & shape that connects the blade to the handle.  The box came that way in the mail, too!  It also looks pretty cheap - the metal colored plastic is all melted.  I can return it - but does it really matter if I'm covering it in ribbon anyway?  I wasn't overly invested in this piece looking amazing, but I'm a little irritated at the shape of the pieces.  Do I return & spend like $5-7 more to get a "beach" one, or just wrap this one in ribbon to cover flaws?

Box - came like this!

Handle of one I got:

Listing picture (see rounded joining edges/looks like real metal & different design?):

Messed up plastic

Great thread! Where did you purchase the toasting glasses?

Great thread! Where did you purchase the toasting glasses?

I ended up getting them on eBay, about $50 shipped. I watched different ones for months, and finally took the plunge after I saw one auction style to save a bit of money. I do wish I'd gone with one that ha black etching, for better visibility on the sand, but it would have been quite a bit more. I am keeping it as a keepsake, so it's not tooooo horrible a price since it's personalized!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
