Now Larimar - 2015

Recommended Posts

I can not believe my wedding is only 19 days away. And I am such a last minute person, the next 2 weeks are going to be CRAZY!!

I pretty much have everthing planned and done just a couple things left. I too am kind of worried about getting things down there, but with Southwest you get 2 checked bags for free and then you can still bring a carry on. So thank God my mom, dad and sister are flying down with me, so they are carrying the things that can break in a carry on.

I am basically taking EVERYTHING down there with me. If I could get fresh flowers down there I would. LOL.

My color scheme is burlap and lace, with yellow as my accent color.

For the ceremony, we are doing burlap and lace sashes over the chairs that come with the divine package, and then burlap and lace around all four of the post for the gazebo. Andd we are going to have fresh yellow flowers on the 2 posts that face the guests. And then fresh yellow flow petals that line the plain runner. We are bringing raffia fans for each guest and our programs will be on the fans. We even have a sand ceremony and the color of the sand is yellow and biscotti.

My cocktail hr we are just making burlap and lace to tie around the foot of the high boys.

My reception, I have gone all out and I hope that everything will look great! We have a burlap and lace table runner (we pnly have 26 guests plus my fiance and I) so we are doing one long rectangular table. then we have white ceremic lattice lanterns with candles inside, and like 40 votive candles to line the table. We have small round vases that wil hold yellow roses and tall round vases that will hold floating candles. Our reception is on the terrace, so with the dark setting and all of the candles it will be beautiful. We have a ton of other really cute personal touches, like heart shaped burlap name place cards, and for the sign in book we are doing heart shapes cards, that will go into envelopes that they can write messages on. And it will all be placed in a burlap vintage photo album.

It is fun planning a wedding. And I can't wait to share all of my pictures when i get back.

Hey all!

Can anyone give me a run down of the DJ services listed on the wedding planner excel sheet?

Is this an outside vendor (therefore, additional charge?)

As well, how far in advance did you send them the request sheet?  Has anyone run into them not playing the songs on that list/concerns of not being able to find them?  I am feeling a little crazy, but really want to take down a thumb drive of all of the songs (there are a TON bc I threw it out to our guests to make requests/we like some possibly hard to find country/east coast songs, that may not be available)...

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

So sorry if I've missed this....

but has anyone does an 'a la carte' type package?

Our guest list is at 35 people right now, with about 12 people being, no's but we wanted to invite regardless.

We are having a large reception when we return, so a reception at the resort isn't really something we need.

We are looking at booking the complimentary package, with additional cake and toast for the extra wedding guest, and then adding in the cocktail hour(or 2!) , and a sit down semi private dinner....

I couldn't find anything directly thru the website, but found the 'a la carte' prices for everything thru amresorts.com.....

Thoughts on this? am I crazy for thinking of doing this instead of a package wrapped up?

Thanks ladies!

Not crazy at all! I have seen another bride do it at a different resort and she seemed quite happy with it. I attempted to price out the packages to see how much everything cost on its own compared to the package....I gave up though. Kinda a pain in the ass since not everything provided in the package  is listed on the a la carte list.

But maybe if you just price it out if you go a la carte and then compare it to the package? You don't want to be paying for a bunch of things you don't want in the package. I want to bring my own flowers so having them in the package is just taking up space!(But I might just use them as centerpieces, we'll see)

Did the WC send you the excel sheet which will calculate the prices for you if you change/add things? I don't have this myself have just heard about it through the thread.

I have been using this for the ala carte prices, which is the one through amresorts.

Let us know what you decide/think you will be going with!! lol

Hello All!!

I am actually in the process of securing my April 2016 date at the Now Larimar. I was curious to know if anyone has considered taking advantage of the complimentary package, and paying for add ons to make it everything you want? I'm thinking of doing that vs. purchasing a package, if its more cost containing.

Also, is there any place I can go to actually see each of the available locations for ceremonies and receptions??

I am sure I am being insanely impatient! We paid our deposit last week, and we still haven't heard from the wedding coordinator... from everything I've read, I know they take their time, until closer to your wedding, but I really want the spreadsheet everyone talks about!! anddd my date still isn't booked on the website...

again, probably being super impatient-- mainly needed to vent

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
