Thank you soo much for your response!  I love your idea to bring a framed menu- what a great keepsake too!  Good to know they have individual menus too! Thanks for adding the pictures!  I will take a look.  :)  I so appreciate all of your advice and responses.  I am nervous as I just want everyone to have a great time, and have gotten some push back about having a destination wedding.  You have made me feel more at ease. :)

I am glad my responses have been helpful! I was definitely nervous before our trip too and I just wanted everyone to have a great time. And it really worked out great. We had so many different ages and personalities in our group, but everyone really had a wonderful time. We were able to do things as a group many nights, but everyone was also able to do their own things and everyone had an amazing time! I felt nervous about it until we got to the resort, but once we were all there, it was great! :)

@@Danamarielouise Are you hiring an outside officiant? If you're using what comes with your package, I believe the wedding coordinator is the one that performs the ceremony. They sent me the script and I decided to hire Pastor Rick York. His fee is very reasonable. I'd be happy to send you the ceremony he sent me if you'd like! Or, you can reach out to him & see if he's available on your date & he'll send you a few options to choose from. Search his name on this site and all you find is amazing reviews. All the little extras add up but I felt like this was worth it!

@@Danamarielouise I got confirmation from the spa that they will not take appointments until 2-3 months before. For me that is unfair. There are two other weddings that day... What if I get stuck with a crappy slot, ie way too early??

Not too happy about not knowing whether I will get time slots I want for spa and salon.. but I am not going to worry about it now... I will focus on.. the dress... been dress shopping this weekend... omg... why did i wait so long.. i feel the pressure is on bigtime.

@@tbg0819 The highest package, the Divine package is for 25- beyond that there is a per person fee for everything. liquor as well during the cocktail hour, toast, and I do not recall about the reception. As I started to do the math, I was apprehensive about having sent out 100 Save the Dates. I am hoping I max out at 50-60.... we'll see.

@@Montana - Thank you very much for the information. The wedding coordinator confirmed that the extra charge per guest for the buffet prices do include open bar for the reception. Thankfully! I hear ya on sending out a lot of invites. We initially wanted a destination wedding thinking that we would get a small group (we have HUGE families - our guest list is 425 people...) so far we're estimating that 160 will make it to the wedding! but even that is a little optimistic I think...

@@kosrae89 thanks for sharing all about your wedding day! I am getting married at now in November and am considering doing welcome bags. What did you include in yours? Or if anyone else has welcome bag ideas/pics please let me know...

Hi! I am having my wedding Aug. 8 and considering welcome beach totes. Some things I plan to include are a Bubba so guests can keep their drinks cold, pain killers, sunscreen, alka seltzer. Want to add more but not sure yet. Any suggestions are welcome :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
