Yay! Happy to see a page for 2015 Now brides! Booked with the Divine package for February 18, 2015. Beach ceremony and carnival terrace reception ( wanted the pool but already booked)...still don't know whether to go with a dj after (about 36 guests) or watch the show and head to the disco. Bit confused about the decoration costs too...love the flower balls but 80 each seems steep so thinking of DIY . Looking forward to our planning!

I agree completely about the cost of the decorations, definitely planning on DIY my centerpieces and just checking them and hoping for the best!

Is anyone reserving the bridal suite? Debating if it's worth the additional $150, or just get ready in my room (we visited last September and the rooms are large enough to get ready with myself and 3 girls).

@@Sandygray88  When we locked into our Divine Package last July the Saxophonist was included, well we had an option of Saxophone, Violin, iPod, or live band.

Some one who has booked recently might be able to confirm for you!!!!

Hello All:

My wedding is approaching and the planning is becoming a bit much. So I really appreciate this page.

I'm bringing the majority of my centerpieces and asking them only for the vase and flower petals. Well I'm probably bringing the majority of my decorations, the sashes for my chairs (which I was unaware that you had to bring 2 sets one for the ceremony and one for the reception chairs), decoration for the gazebo, etc... I have found tons of discount wedding sites and wholesale sites that I will order things from and do one big shipment down there prior too vs packing an additional suitcase.

My wedding ceremony will be on the beach and reception on the terrace since we will have close to 40-45 ppl coming.

I put down 100 and will upgrade to the divine wedding package. Really the only benefit is for the added cocktail hour that they have.

Hi Drnelly....what sites have you looked at for decorations? Crappy..I didn't realize either that you had to pay for sashes at both places.we are also doing the beach and the terrace.

I found this out from my WC as well.

What I think we will do is bring enough sashes for the back row of chairs and the aisle chairs at the ceremony (just for the colour).

At the reception - we are likely going to to a table cloth or table runner (with our own centrepieces TBD) in our colours, and instead of chair sashes, make place cards/name tags that hang on the back of chairs with ribbons.  So we can do ALL our wedding colours that way, and as a place card, there should be no additional charge on the set up (programs, favours and place cards are all set up without cost according to my WC).

That's a great idea for the sashes! I think I am going to do this for the ceremony as well, thanks for the tip!!

Saw a pic on a site with wedding set up images at Secrets...the sashes were tied to the side of the isle chairs, draped down and tied with a pretty flower marker...really liked it. On that note I didn't realize we could book the beach gazebo at Secrets as we have no kids at our wedding...emailed the wc to see if we can change...much more private...has anyone seen it?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
