Hi everyone so I'm waiting for Grand Coral to update their contract and resend it over to me and I'll have my reception booked, have my accommodations booked, hair and makeup my own, flowers from DAC or similar, table set up Euphoria, dj taken care of, still need a wedding cake but for me I could totally make a boxed cake( yes I said that.)

But there is still one thing... An officiant!

If you google officiants you will see Noe Camacho. I tried reaching out to him multiple times with no luck. I found his Facebook site ( yes I'm thorough, have planned many events for friends; I'm crafty) he apologized said he was so busy n would contact me this week. Still nothing... At this point I have a bad feeling. If he's that busy now, will he make my day feel rushed?

For me the ceremony is the most important part. The emotion the intimacy the promise. Family encircled, feet rooted down onto the earth, no jewelry, no precessional music although I'm planning something else instead, but the real raw union of two people for life. I want my officiant to understand that.

If any brides feel the same way then, who are you using to officiant your wedding?

It would be an English speaking symbolic ceremony. ( we are legally married but haven't exchanged vows.. We want this to feel real!)

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Lisa

Hi LisaAnthonyPoppy,

Sounds like you are doing a lot of the leg work and planning the details on your own! Do you have a WC with the resort that can help you with this?

I'm getting married in Cuba and honestly, most of the items you mentioned including the Officiant are things I have not even had to consider. Our wedding is in 9 days and our WC has taken care of everything.

Our WC has arranged for a local Notary Public to officiate for us, we chose a legal non religious ceremony option. Not sure if this makes a difference on how easy/difficult it is to find an officiant for or how much leg work the WC will do for you?

I'd connect with the resort and ask them about it, it might be something they can help with and take some stress off of your plate. :)

@@LisaAnthonyPoppy have you though of asking someone you know? A friend or family member? We do not want a religious ceremony and both think it would be nice if the officiant adds a personal touch and understands how important this day is to us. We are planning on asking my oldest brother. He is good at speaking in public, and will be officiating for one of his close friends at the end of the month I want to wait after that to ask him. I'm French Canadian and FI is American, I would love to incorporate a few things in French in our ceremony and my brother is perfectly bilingual.

As you said and I totally agree, the ceremony is the most important part and the more I think about it I don't want a stranger we will never see again be the one to 'bless' our union.

Just a thought.

Sounds like you've done a great job with your wedding plans already, Lisa! Lillian84's idea also sounds wonderful - to have someone you know and who knows you and has a special relationship, sounds like a great fit :)

Hope you find the perfect officiant for your Beautiful and Very Special Celebration!

Here's one of those magical intimate wedding "moments that matter" So Much that Linc captured at a recent wedding for added inspiration....enjoy :)

I highly recommand Gabriela de La rosa (gabydelarose@hotmail.com) from Promisses Spiritual Ceremonies (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Promisses-Spiritual-Ceremonies/332385010132246).She is the best officiant ever. I needed a bilingual person to perform our symbolic ceremony (french/english) and everybody loved her. She made the ceremony so special and personal, She provided us with the sand ceremony kit with engraved vase as a gift.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
