How Much Is The Trip Costing Your Guests

Recommended Posts

I will start.

Travelling with Air Transat for a 7 day all inclusive at Melia Caribe Tropical.

Departing St. John's, Newfoundland - $1690 taxes included based on double occupancy

Departing Toronto, Ontario - $1450 taxes included based on double occupancy

Departing from Edmonton - This is where me and my fiancé are departing from and a couple of other people. The prices for this isn't yet determined because packages weren't available with Air Transat leaving Edmonton to Punta Cana for this resort. We may have to get land only and do the flights separate. Right now it looks to be around $1900 with both combined. I am hoping the flight prices will go down.

All of these prices require a $50 deposit which is due July 4th/14. The remainder is due Feb 5/15. Wedding date is April 17, 2015.

I don't have a good idea as to how much it will cost my guests, because we gave them a range of choice. We block booked room for 7 days, but we are allowing our guests to choose how long they want to stay, as well as when they want to go to Punta Cana. Guests have to stay for 3 days at Dreams Palm Beach, so that is $611 for 3 nights for double occupancy and flights are between 550-650 depending on the day!

All of my guests are flying out of Vancouver, to Cancun for 7 nights staying in a Deluxe Junior Suite at Grand Sunset Princess. It's costing guests $1635 based on double sharing.

:(

When we originally started looking I wanted to keep it around $1300. That didn't happen!

Oh and mine require a $250 deposit by July 14th, and remainder by Apr 1, 2015 for my May 23, 2015 departure.

They require a $150 deposit it ends up being $1700 with taxes for the cheapest room. The fiancé and I are splurging with an upgrade and it will cost us $1900 with taxes.

We are flying to Jamaica with sunwing and leaving from Halifax is $1648 and Leaving from Toronto is $1540 I believe. Most of our guest our flying out o Halifax. Our deposit was $150 and we get ONE price drop between now and 45 days before our trip if the price drops at all.

The majority of our guests will be staying from 3-4 nights in Mexico- Some are taking it as a vacation, so most people are staying longer than we would advise financially.

For single occupancy, the price for the trip is around 1200-1300

For two people its closer to 2800

It's a lot of money no matter where you go I think

HI @@nikkicraig10

what are your numbers looking like so far? how many people have already put down deposits.

I am not sure!! We invited only 52 people down, but I have been too nervous to ask my TA how many people have phoned her up because I don't want to hear "none"! My deposits not due for another month and a half so I think people are just procrastinating, but I have a good idea of at least 25 because that's the bridal party, their spouses and our parents/siblings. Hoping for 40 because for the reception I chose I have to pay for a minimum of 40 people! (at $100/person!)

@@nikkicraig10 I just spoke with my TA and she told me no one has booked hahah. I felt like a kid that they just said "you have no friends" to hahah. I better get my family on it to at least make some numbers! haha. I'm still far away from the deadline so I'm not worried (2 months). Most people have said that they are coming but I know everyone is procrastinating. I'm hoping they will start booking when I send invitations next month.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
