Hi ladies!

We are planning a wedding in the Dominican Republic next July/August and are exploring our wedding options now. We haven't yet decided on a resort, but hopefully will in the next couple of weeks, (we're waiting on our TA to get back to us with pricing). I originally thought we'd definitely have a on resort wedding, however, after looking at off resort venues like Jellyfish, Huracan Cafe, and Kukua Beach Club I am reconsidering. Are there any ladies who've had their weddings at an off resort location who are willing to share what they spent on their weddings, what was included, how many guests, open bar choices, etc? I've gotten pricing for a couple of the places but it seems very piecemeal, and I would just like to know what a real bride spent on everything.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!

There are many beautiful off resort locations in Punta Cana!!!

I've photographed weddings in many off resort venues in Punta Cana and the price really depends on the venue (if there is a fee to book the whole restaurant, etc.), number of guests, if you want open bar the whole night and all the extras in terms of entertainment.
Feel free to e-mail me at julia@juliaeskin.com and I can give you the info for the wedding coordinator who works directly with most of the venues in Punta Cana.

Some options for the off resort weddings:

Kukua Restaurant:

La Cana Golf Club:

Playa Blanca Restaurant (Punta Cana group)

Jellyfish Restaurant:

Secret Beach:

@FutureMrsGrabs I too wanted a wedding off resort. I definitely feel like they try to weasel the money out of you any way they can. We are staying at the NOW Larimar and are using La Barcaza, 2 story wedding boat for our ceremony and reception. We will be there August 7-16th so I can definitely let you know about La Barcaza.

They pick you up at your resort, you have the option of either getting married up top or they take you to a completely private beach (no one sunbathing 50 feet from your wedding!) then you get back on the boat for your reception/dinner/cruising around. They also stop at the natural pool so everyone can go swimming if that what you want. I don't have the absolute final pricing yet but it's pretty cheap for what you get I think.

Let me know if you would like more details once I get back! Good Luck!

Yes, I'd love pricing if you have it! Could you email it to me at grabmillerwedding2015@@gmail.com please?

@FutureMrsGrabs I am getting married at Kukua in November. If you would like some information on pricing, I can send you some of my quotes. Just send me your email address!

Would you send me pricing too please? I'm trying to talk my FI into it :) My email is grabmillerwedding2015@@gmail.com. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
