Hair Appts at the Riu Ocho Rios - Renova Spa

Hi ladies!

Sorry if this is posted somewhere already. I am wondering if any of you ROR brides have already made your hair appts at the Renova Spa for your wedding day hair if that is where you are planning on getting your hair done? I had emailed the spa about making an appt and they require a 50% deposit in advance online through Pay Pal... this seems kind of unnecessary, doesn't it? I mean, I do plan on getting my hair done there but I dont understand the need to pay half of it up front in advance, I am always a little leery of doing these things... what are the rest of you doing? Thoughts? I also dont want to risk NOT making an appointment and then not getting a hair appointment on my wedding day! smile27.gif

I'm going through the same exact thing right now. I emailed them a few weeks ago and was told the same thing. I'm not sure what to do because one of my cousins is coming to the wedding and she's a hairdresser. She said she would do some of my BMs hair. So, I'm trying to figure out how many she can do and how many appointments I need to make for Renova. I don't want to have to make too many appointments at Renova (I have 8 BMs!) because of the 50% deposit rule. It seems a bit ridiculous to me too! I'd also love to hear what the other ROR brides are doing.

Hi, I made my appointment the day after I arrived at the Riu. No deposit required. They seem to allready know when the weddings are and there was time for me. They tell you what time, according to what time your wedding is. So my wedding was 2pm and they told me 11am, so this way they would be done with the 12 wedding by the time I came in. Then alittle bit after they started with me, the girls for the next wedding after mine started coming in. My appointment was for hair only I did not get my nails done here.

I already booked all of my appointments for myself, the bridal party and mothers. I gave them all a certain amount for their bridal gift that they could spend on getting their hair, manicure, pedicure, massage, etc. I did pay the 50% deposit through PayPal and it was really easy. Also, for us Canadians...the exchange rate is really good right now! I feel better knowing the appointments have been secured and that I don't have to worry about them when I get there. Pauline also quoted 5% off the cost if you book online, and 10% off (I think that's regardless of how you book it) for the bride and groom.

Only 10 weeks to go!!!!

I booked an appointment for my hair and my bridesmaids. They told me they can only do 2 of us at a time so I didn't want to get out there and not be able to get an appointment at the time I wanted. It seems like a small outfit if they can only do two people at a time. I would book now if you are going to while the exchange is good. I booked months ago and got ripped with exchange!!!

Last weekend I booked the appointments for myself and my three bridesmaids. It was really easy and efficient! And I got a great exchange rate for my CDN $ too! So I'm glad I did it, one more thing checked off the list!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
