The Hardest Part Of A Destination Wedding

Recommended Posts

@@keezy Thats super hard! I know i started with a huge bridal party that was i nervous about because i offered to buy the dresses since they will be buying there own tickets! but now i just have my MOH and 1 bridesmaid and my flower girl of course :)

So my silver lining is i am going to save a bunch of money on dresses and gifts and get to spoil the wedding party and guest who do come :)

@@keezy Ah thats tricky but no where in the book does it say it HAS TO balance! When we first started asking people i was going to have more Maids then my FI was going to have men. This sounds HORRIBLE but maybe some of his men will back out as well....If you have already asked them i was advise against unasking them...

Do you have any family who you know if coming or that your close with that you could ask?

Guess that wouldn't be the right thing to do, asking them to drop out! (Wonder how I'd start the conversation off..lol..)

I know it doesn't`t have to balance out but you know us brides wanting everything to be perfect. Unfortunately there is nobody else to ask, a lot of our young friends are not coming or have cxld. Don`t think I want my Aunts as my bridesmaids..lol..

A thought.. maybe I can have 2 groomsmen escort 1 bridesmaid down

@@SamanthaC That was an issue I was running into. I wanted to reserve at least 25 rooms but we will probably have around 20 people coming and I know that people are bunking up with as many as possible to save money!! So I took it down to 12 rooms!! Did most of your group use your TA?

@@keezy I have 3 brides maids an my FI has 5 grooms men. I could ask more people but I don't want to! lol! The 3 I'm asking are the ones that are really there for me and really helping with this whole wedding process so I don't want to ask others just for the heck of it. It would look bad at all to have 2 groomsmen with one bridesmaid! A destination wedding isn't traditional anyway!

@@ASAtobe as far as i know so far everyone is using our travel agent! None of my friends/family are big travels except for one of my cousins and his family travel quite often! So its just easier for everyone to use our TA. Though i have started to wonder if we will have "last min" bookers waiting for a good deal...makes it hard to order everything and plan accordingly

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
