Oot Bag Vs. Pre-Travel Package

Recommended Posts

I considered handing the bags out prior to our departure, but decided against it.  I wanted the guests to actually take the items with them, I was worried that it I game them before they wouldn't take the items.

I am also having my parents and my brother take the items with them, they will be in Aruba a week before me so they are actually going to put the bags together prior to our arrival and deliver them to the hotel.  (They don't know all this yet) :)

We will be having family members check extra bags for us so we are able to get everything to Punta Cana. We will be handing out our welcome bags to each guest as they arrive.

This is the first thread I have seen about pre travel mailers.  I though I was the only one over the top a little.  I am going to mail out a package with a welcome letter with some info about entry requirements, climate, what to pack, etc.  I have luggage tags (flip flops and airplanes), I bought little travel shampoo containers at the dollar store and printed out labels that say "Punta Cana or bust" and have our wedding date, a shoe bag, and a carry on kit.  In the carry on kit I am putting advil, gum, pens for filling out customs forms, antibacterial wipes for the nasty airplane trays, and hand sanitizer.  I will probably include some type of candy or snack as well.  I made my own shoe bags and bags for the carry on kit.  They are here:

since our daughter and fiancé will be driving to cali.  And we will be driving we are putting them in their car and giving them at the reception.  We are also giving a small gift & snack to those who are not sailing with us but have driven to be aboard for the event.  So no one's left out.  We have really been tossing this around since some one mentioned it on one of the boards.  So this is the idea we came up with.  That way no hurt feeling, no luggage worries and no postage.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
